It isn't all that surprising. Consider that MSN used to be the default search engine for everyone who uses internet explorer and that it automatically switched to BING and got a lot more colorful. People are actually really bad at choosing anything that isn't the default. Its surprising to folks like us that visit and post on forums regularly, but the majority of people just can't be bothered to find something better when they already have "good enough"... And now with pretty colors, oh my!
