    Pay for Internet Sales Manager/Director

[COLOR=#222222] Well, I don't know how your cost-of-living in TN compares with MD (I assume it's a fair amount lower), but I'd say that sounds pretty good...if, and it's a big if, your dealership actually does 100 a month. I've been burned a few times by pay plans that looked good based on...

    Best sub-$1k (monthly) ILM?

I just started running the Internet side of a small used car store without an ILM/CRM system. So far I've come across MotorLot and eLead in this price range. Anyone have any thoughts on either of those, or other suggestions? Thanks!

Anyone have a generic contract for outside vendors?

I'm going to be doing SEO among other website based things for a dealership part time. Does anyone have a basic contract for third party dealership vendors that I might be able to work from as a starting point?

    vAuto on the iPhone

That doesn't surprise me... I stand by my previous comments :hello:

    vAuto on the iPhone

Seriously? wow... If $2 is that significant to them, they must either 1) not be working their pay plan right or 2) not be any good at their job. Jeez. My lot attendant wouldn't even gripe about spotting $2 without the expectation of repayment. I paid it, because I have a use for it. If...

Where Have All the Leaders Gone?

Turnover is the enemy of success. There is a reason the team we have in place has been more successful than any other in the history of our location. People don't get blown out at the drop of a hat. They get trained, taught, and cultivated into true sales professionals. Upper management/DPs at...

    Good Vendor Reports

Auto Architech and HomeNet are very good with getting my issues taken care of as soon as I contact them. I am picky and a bit of an IT "power user" as I have been called by more than one vendor, and they are good at getting things fixed when I notice something isn't right... even when 90% of...

Zag Dealers That Low Ball or Any Internet Quote that is a Low Ball

I am so tired of ZAG dealers ignoring the rules that I almost dropped them as a vendor. Then I thought about it, and I only pay for the cars I sell, so I just changed my tactic. I put up my real, "I'll sell it to you at this price but not for any less" pricing, and just left it at that. If...

    CRM Roll Call

Let's get a comprehensive list together, then put up a poll, so we don't leave anyone out who might be new and less well-known.

Shopping for a new CRM - Looking for suggestions

See, your comment about the interface brought up one of my biggest issues with all of the CRMs I've seen to date. They're all hopelessly outdated. Why are we not seeing a 100% web based, ajax/php/html5 (but PLEASE don't use flash!!) solution? These websites look like they were designed in...

Shopping for a new CRM - Looking for suggestions

I have finally had it with DealerSocket. I'm actively looking for alternatives. I will start off by saying I don't mind if vendors contribute to this thread about their product, or you can just contact me directly. But really I'd like some real world experiences with various products from other...

Hey ZAG - Enforce your own rules or drop them!

Let me add to this thread what I just said on the Carfax post on the front page. WHY do we keep working with vendors who claim to “work for us” when in fact they’re just figuring out how to SCREW us? In what other industry would any company in their right mind pay someone to tell customers why...

Hey ZAG - Enforce your own rules or drop them!

The military population in my area is huge... I need ZAG simply because if I didn't use them, I'd be losing access to those USAA customers. But I hate everything about the way they do business. I've been really torn on this one...

Hey ZAG - Enforce your own rules or drop them!

Am I going to be pegged as the one who trashes vendors? LOL this is not trashing... nor were my posts about that other vendor. This is positive criticism wrapped up in the extreme frustration of a customer who has to deal with the shortfalls of his vendors on a daily basis and IS TIRED OF IT...

DealerSocket, get your act together (RANT)

Hi Shellie, First let me say that I appreciate very much that you are getting involved with this post. Too many companies don't care about what their customers have to say when it comes to negative criticism. If it's possible to use Dealersocket on a mac without any issues, I'm all ears...

Auto Technologies that force IE & Windows?

So happy most sites are dropping IE 6 support. HyundaiDealer.com yells at you if you're not using IE6/7 but will work for everything except WebDCS.

DealerSocket, get your act together (RANT)

Furthermore, I just checked four leads I replied to via email today. The one that was a brand new lead worked fine. The emailed responses that I replied to never went through. What good is this system if it only works for brand new leads and not for further communication?

DealerSocket, get your act together (RANT)

Well, no, not really. I can respond from anywhere with email, but it doesn't alter the status of any events in the lead. When I get a new lead, and reply by email, it should mark the web lead as completed and make a new to do for sending an email that is completed. Likewise, when I'm responding...

DealerSocket, get your act together (RANT)

Hmm... I tried to reply to the message when that feature was first announced (to a test lead I sent in) but it never went through. Tried it again today and it worked (same lead). Guess I'll start using that. Still (obviously) not ideal.
