    Amazon Vehicles

I can't see Amazon go backwards to the ebay model. Amazon's model is all based on the transaction. I can't see them saying "hey, forget what these new companies like Beepi and Carvana are doing, let's go down the road of eBay". If you look at the product page of the vehicles, it could easily...

Is The VDP a Good Landing Page?

Consumer surveys are gold when the questioning is formatted with the right intent. Trying to find out where a consumer starts the journey is like trying to catch your tail, rarely happens. Finding points that influenced the shopper gets a dealer closer to answering questions of what works...

Is The VDP a Good Landing Page?

This is gold, love your thought. You can also get into the funnel at a higher point by attacking ideas with your landing pages you described, attacking the starting points for used car buyers - "highest safety rating for mini-vans", "truck towing capacity comparison", etc... I've seen great...

Attribution: Do you give the last touchpoint all of the credit for a sale?

I agree, I don't like the way the question is formatted but it does let you know those places were a part of the customers journey. A major thing for me would be finding out the impact points of what they recall. I don't care about the 24 touchpoints, I care what had an effect. If I'm getting...

Attribution: Do you give the last touchpoint all of the credit for a sale?

I agree that data gathering in the store can be tricky, but there is a method to the mayhem of follow-up surveys or interviews. That takes effort and a lot of things have to come together to be successful or have anything outside of a sampling.

Attribution: Do you give the last touchpoint all of the credit for a sale?

I believe a dealer needs more than 1 attribution model and those models should be broken down by New and Used. The overall concepts I'm posting are all generalities. Analytics Attribution helps dealers make marketing decisions, talking to your customers grades those decisions. Analytics...

    Website Vendors

Talk to your customers, learn how you can fulfill their needs faster when shopping. You would be surprised how frustrated customers get with things we take for granted in our bubble.

    Online Shopping to Online Buying

Throwing in my 2 cents on guessing the future. I see online buying for used cars increasing in small increments over time (new cars will obviously accelerate faster). IMO, there will be an internet "disruptor" that shakes things up, not an automotive online technology. The majority of trust...

What are the Top 3 questions shoppers ask when they arrive at your car dealership?

Mary or Max starts out their shopping process thinking of a 2-year old sedan with a sunroof and low miles would be great. 6 hours later they are frustrated, enough info in their head to be dangerous and still unsatisfied. They began the process thinking of driving to work with the sunroof open...

Will you buy a .car .cars or .auto extension?

No offense taken, just throwing up an article pertaining to the thread. I think it is something to keep an eye on but way way way down on the list of taking anything seriously.

Will you buy a .car .cars or .auto extension?

    Online Shopping to Online Buying

Went and looked at a Carvana VDP for the first time and it looks like their going down the road of Carmax - laid out to build confidence. I'm not ready to buy a car online, I like the process of signing the agreement after the decision, but those VDP's would make it an easier decision to...

Are there any Dealerships using Mobile downloadable apps for Iphones/Androids ?

Joe, to follow up a bit. The technology to know your within a radius of the dealership and to be pinged is there. The webcam idea has actually been talked about and being pursued in development. The concierge idea will be talked about and explored in next weeks dev meeting, great idea.

Perfect list Joe. Number 2, I would have to do some investigating on.

Are there any Dealerships using Mobile downloadable apps for Iphones/Androids ?

Ed nailed it. An app is a tool for the customers. If the app is only focused on inventory and being used only every couple of years, it fails. It must go a step further to hold value, focused on auto in general - tracking service, storing all vehicle and insurance info, gas price finder...

Mobile Sites vs. Mobile App's Revisted

Just found this thread on the blog side of DealerRefresh. It's buried over there so wanted to bring it back from the dead over here. Great insight and opinions but wanted to bring another point of view that seems to be missing. Mobile Websites or Dealership Mobile Apps - Which Is it? |...
