We are considering adding CarGurus right now, and they provided us with two separate quotes. One is just for the regular listing service, then the second quote includes controlling the banner ads around the vehicle listings.

Has anyone noticed any difference in performance with or without paying for the banner ads? I asked the rep if he had any data on performance difference, he did not.

We never did the CarGurus banners, but we tried them years ago on the other big classified sites.

If the cost is more than $0, I would pass.

It depends on what you're looking to achieve, but if the rep can't provide any data on performance, then I wouldn't consider it.

It removes other dealer's banners from being on YOUR VDP.. if that's worth something to you.. might be worth looking into.

We currently use them. When we started, we were over .4% (off their performance 'gauge' that is on the page) click through rate. It has since died off to .26% (which is in the green "good" range that starts at .25%).

I think I'll have to come up with some custom banners and change them out every 2 months or so to keep it fresh. and see if the click through goes up.

Are you measuring (attributing) the banners to goal acquisitions, leads or sales?
