Salary for Internet Sales Manager or Director

Salary for digital media specialist?

I am someone that takes care of all of the dealership vehicle photos, website maintenance, print ads along with various other tasks, and am curious what the average rate of pay for someone of this position. It is a somewhat blurry subject in the sense that I am the first person to do this job at my place of work, so I am just seeing if anyone else has a person like myself at their dealership, and what they make.

The responsibilities that I have are:

- Photography of each vehicle
- Cleaning the photo booth
- Custom vehicle comments/descriptions (website)
- Photoshop each photo for maximum quality (average of 30 per vehicle)
- Posting vehicles to Craigslist
- Web banners (slideshow on homepage)
- Print ads and all other graphic design within the business
- Coordinating with TV advertisers (graphics/logos)
- Stationary design
- Facebook, Twitter, YouTube updates
- Basic IT trouble shooting in the sales dept.
- Window stickers
- Occasional online pricing updates
- Customer assistance when all sales reps are occupied
- Website maintenance (Dealer.com drag and drop style)
- Video uploads to our website
- Updating online specials
- Creating Excel charts
- Web traffic analysis
- Autotrader and Cars.com maintenance
- Test leads within Dealer.com website
- Washing vehicle exteriors if they are dirty before photographing
- Misc. tasks

I typically do about 25-40 vehicles per week and work 50-60 hours. What would somebody like myself typically get paid?

Any information would be very helpful.

This a great question! I make 2500.00 a month and 50 dollars a car! The salesman get the rest! ( They keep half the profits from my end for the dealership.) Just chump change! I grossed 45000 last month!! We have only had our department for 4 months as well. I handle the entire department plus all service leads and I take the pictures too. What burns me is I make jack compared to my husband!

I think you need to have a sit down with your manager and rework your pay plan. Be prepared to go 100% commission! If you want to run with the big dogs, that's the way it is in this industry.

I'm glad to know that I needed to run with the big dogs! I have been in the car business for a little over 6 years. I'm not totally new in the industry and only reason I took this position because of time for my family. I was promised more and they completely fell through! Yes, working the regular sales floor I made more money at another dealership. But there I was 100% commission and that's was fine. But now I do a regular work week and get screwed on commission! No thank you for you comment.

Lady Dealer, If you knew me you'd know that my comment was more in jest than anything. But seriously, take your game to another dealer. We live in a capitalistic world and somebody will be willing to pay you what you're worth if you can deliver. What area of the country do you live in?

So I am guessing you deal with all sales leads as well? That's tough for me to measure with, since I do not handle leads. Our internet manager does that work. I do like the sounds of $50 per car though. Is that on top of the $2,500.00 per month? Also how many vehicles does your dealership sell on average per month? Was that your starting pay too? Sorry for so many questions...

At my store, we have two internet sales managers. We only get about 110 legitamit leads a month, maybe even less and we are selling anywhere from 22-27 cars a month. That is the total out of two of us. I feel like I am working my butt off, but I didn't even gross 40K.

I work the leads and also sell the vehicle, I don't just get the appointment in. I get a $2000 draw not salary and is paid 15% front, back and holdback. We also started selling vehicles on Ebay which I am now in charge of.

Him and I usually generate anywhere from $40,000 to $45,000 in gross profit every month out of our department.

Am i getting underpaid? HELP?

If that's the correct gross profit, then you are extremely underpaid.

According to your math, you should make the following $880K x 15% = $132K divided by 2 = $66K per person. How much did he make versus you? You sure you're generating that amount of revenue?

You're lucky to get paid on holdback, most don't.
