Job Description:

Come help us to create innovative, engaging and effective products for DealerRater’s dealership customers. DealerRater is the global standard for car dealership reviews and research — and more than 14 million consumers are exposed to our reviewers' content every month.

About the Job:

As a Product Manager reporting to our Product Director, you will help support and accelerate development of our dealer-facing program tools and functionality. You will become the “Voice of the Customer” by leading the charge with a “market-first” approach to researching, innovating, developing and launching new dealer products and services and find creative ways to optimize market trends and opportunities that align with our growth strategy. Additionally, you’ll be the expert on buyer behavior and buying criteria for your products; and be the expert on the competition and how we should be positioned against them and in the Online Reputation Management (ORM) space.

This job requires someone who is a good listener and innovator – who can understand market problems, synthesize customer feedback and innovate creative solutions for those problems that are the most pervasive and urgent. What You’ll Do:

  • Understand market problems through in-person visits with dealership customers and potential dealership customers.

  • Identify new market opportunities and solutions for Dealers by becoming an “expert” in your assigned sector.

  • Develop use cases, business requirements, wireframes, and functional specs for new products and product enhancements.

  • Assist our Product Director with management of all dealership products and services throughout their product life-cycle, including researching, innovating and leading creative development/launch of new products.

  • Research, troubleshoot and provide solutions to business problems related to products and services at all stages in the product life-cycle including user acceptance testing and prioritization of new features and enhancements.

  • Maintain a high level of competitive market intelligence acting as the subject matter expert to sales and our internal team for competitive information as well as on products and services in your defined area.
What You Need:

• BA/BS degree along with three to five years of related B2B product management experience. Candidates who have automotive industry related experience and/or worked for an Internet company and have knowledge of digital marketing and the ORM space are highly desirable.

  • Certified in Pragmatic Marketing not required but a plus

  • Strong attention to detail and experience creating functional product specs and wireframes

  • Passion for delivering value to both dealerships and consumers

  • Solid business judgment and someone who always considers the balance of making the right decisions to ensure successful implementation of a product or service.
  • A grasp of core Web technologies and ability for informed participation in technology, user and business-oriented discussions.

  • Analytical and critical thinking skills to quickly make and measure decisions and define goals across products during planning and execution

  • Ability to work cross-functionally within the organization and responds appropriately to needs and capabilities of different people.

  • Strong sense of pace and urgency to meet deadlines and optimize market opportunities.

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and the ability to maintain a consistent focus on short-term tactics and long-term goals.

  • High degree of organizational skill and a strong ability to effectively communicate with a broad spectrum of stakeholders
