Are you hearing of Ford's new CPO program, certifying non-Ford vehicles?

Ford dealers, are you seeing much referral traffic from the new Ford Blue Advantage website? So far, we're only seeing small amounts of referral traffic from the FBA website to Ford dealer websites. The new site is hosted by Autotrader.com, utilizing their strong website display and reporting...

Cargurus, Autotrader, Cars.com, and CarFax - How much effort?

Good thread, been immersing back into inventory mgt for a few large customers. Deficiencies I still find: 1. Image sizes are not optimized or maximized. In some cases high res photos are excessively dumbed down, or massive files are used for thumbnails, killing SRP and homepage load times. 2...

Thumbnail, toenail, supersize photos (under the hood)

Great feedback, thanks @craigh ! Do you know how Dealer Inspire handles? Best I can tell, they only want one image size to work for all applications.

Thumbnail, toenail, supersize photos (under the hood)

I'm being told that Homenet will only allow one image resolution per photo, so thumbnails and full size VDP pics will have the same underlying file (making SRPs weigh over 10 megabytes on a Dealer Inspire site). Ideally you would have a 320 x 240 for the SRP thumbnail, and a much higher...

Thumbnail, toenail, supersize photos (under the hood)

This question may feel too techie, but we see dealer website speed issues when the search results page (SRP) thumbnail/toenail images are larger than they need to be. We've got a dealer who uses a Homenet reseller for taking pictures, but they only upload a single 1024 x 768 image, so Dealer...

Inventory Management tool to replace V-auto

Picking up this thread to get some latest thoughts, taking a dealer group through evaluation process for inventory merchandising/management decision. I've been out of this business for nearly 4 years, so want to help them evaluate the best solutions. Their primary goal is to evaluate...

Are your Facebook Marketplace listings being hijacked?

As you can see from the screenshot, we’ve seen this from Cars.com, Edmunds and Carfax. Not pictured, we’ve also seen from Carsforsale.com. Another concern not mentiooned in this post is the Carfax approach, with their “Carfox highly tuned AI bot”, which answers every question from “Is this...

Are your Facebook Marketplace listings being hijacked?

Posted this earlier today on LI, getting some good comments and action by dealers. Over the last few weeks we've discovered some FB Marketplace activity by third parties that is not pro-dealer. Third parties are posting the dealers inventory, in many cases without their knowledge, and hi-jacking...

Are you hearing of Ford's new CPO program, certifying non-Ford vehicles?

They aren't tagged or searchable as CPO, see below. It has been this way since around November 2019. They can't seem to put together a deal between Cars.com and the OEMs. I think the dealers should have been notified, all of our dealers are aware, a few cancelled.

Are you hearing of Ford's new CPO program, certifying non-Ford vehicles?

Very nice, thank you @Dan Sayer ! On the 3rd party classifieds, a little known fact for Ford dealers is their CPO inventory is currently not available on Cars.com This is why typically Ford dealers who are heavy CPO, will struggle to hit benchmarks for cost per conversion on Cars.com Same...

Are you hearing of Ford's new CPO program, certifying non-Ford vehicles?

Our Ford dealers are reporting details on Ford's new CPO program, with 2 tiers, blue & gold, which will include non-Ford vehicles with a much lower & cheaper coverage. Anyone else have more detail on this?
