Carvana Partnering With Dealerships - Partner Inventory?

We don't have trouble selling, we have trouble buying...oh wait, they have an answer for that! https://partners.carvana.com/buy

    Vendors & Sales Processes

Yes, now, but probably not 10 years ago. On that 1/3 number, and I know I'm belaboring this point, 1/3 of total leads or net leads don't see a response? I just don't like headline stats with no context. That is all.

The COVID Used Car Desert is coming.

Jasen, what is the volume of vehicles moving through the auctions in the last 27 months vs time period prior? Do you have that data? Or is that relevant? Does the number of vehicles that exist (licensed) in the market have anything to do with the number of vehicles for sale?

    Vendors & Sales Processes

How are they tracking a response? If they are relying on signals out of CRMs, that wouldn't be entirely accurate because if a call goes out but isn't logged or a text via personal device (which I know both are face-in-palm scenarios) or a response comes out of out of 3rd party portal it would...

Wait, what? Is that a current number? Who reported that?

Why aren't 3rd party lead sources easier to manage and more transparent?

Why do you ask @ShepBiff? What is Sheperd and what is your product/service? I think the community is vendor-friendly but always good to give context to your question.

    Rank the CRMs

Are you a single point or group? From what I saw, they didn't have an enterprise answer for a centralized BDC operation or give stores insight to the same customer in other stores. They also didn't have a customizable work-flow based on lead sources. It was a one-size fits all work-flow on...

    Rank the CRMs

@Brad Burlingham, how is this going so far? We are heading that direction on DMS but pumped the brakes hard on the CRM and DR tools. Seemed under-cooked on a demo I had early this month.

The COVID Used Car Desert is coming.

Oh, I thought this post was about a "Dessert" so obviously wanted to be part of that discussion. But now see it is just some car stuff. Moving on. Actually, this is great @joe.pistell (and I couldn't agree more about the ethanol, and I'm in Nebraska!).

#RefreshFriday Dazed & Confused and the Current Used Car Market | Jasen Rice

We may be sending a number of managers but I'll be getting back from an NCM 20Group the week before so probably won't miss an additional day or two in that span. Would have loved to see some old co-workers at Cars Inc/Dealer Inspire. I know Ed was in one of our group store's NADA 20Groups...

@Alex Snyder @Jeff Kershner can you post the link for Carapalooza?

VinSolutions isn't forwarding all your leads...and they know it.

That's unfortunate that someone couldn't just say "it was me". I'm sure if we listed all the outages form all vendors no one would come out unscathed. Are you forwarding any leads out of Vin at the moment @Ryan Everson?

VinSolutions isn't forwarding all your leads...and they know it.

Earlier this year one of my employees discovered that VinSolutions has an issue with forwarding all ADF leads out to other 3rd party partners using their "Lead Forwarding" feature. Yes, kinda poking the bear on this one but we and our vendor partner keep getting put off to later and later API...

17 years old! Happy Birthday DealerRefresh!

Precisely how I found it in late 2009! There was no one to speak with at the store! Thanks for starting this and sticking with it @Jeff Kershner and @Alex Snyder!

    DrivingSales - Still active?

Once they pivoted to Employee Retention and Training, the two most difficult items in the automotive world for dealers to embrace, I think they started to dwindle. You start talking about difficult things that are not fun and take huge effort and your audience starts to be quiet. I can prove...

    Put Down The Phone

100% texting that set of 55? No other channel like email, correct? All responses were from text alone? How many moved to phone conversations?

    Put Down The Phone

@BillKVMotorCo When you say your conversion went up 5%, do you mean 5 points like from 6% to 11% or a 5% change like 6.1% to 6.4%? What have Appointment Set and Show rates done?

Shared Used Car Inventory! Who should get the lead?

Read my post from March 19th. Yes, if someone shops on "Bob's Used Car Emporium on 1st and A Street .com" the lead would go to that store. If someone shops on "All of Bob's Used Car Emporiums in Cincinnati .com" then the shopper should be able to select which store in Cincinnati they want to...

    Glut of Cars Incoming!

My marketing director is hedging that Ford sees the control of lower inventory, the profit increase by not having to incentivize, and the demand they can generate through lower production. I then added, as long as everyone else doesn't try to increase their market-share, that may work LOL
