What do you guys think of everything that's happening with Facebook?

Facebook has always been more effective due to their ads taking the form of content in a place where folks are engaging with content (not a banner off in the corner). Facebook will maintain this edge. Their internal data segments have generally produced better results for us than 3rd party data...

Huge News - Facebook will no longer allow third-party data for targeting ads

In my experience, most third-party data segments tend to perform worse than Facebook's internal data. All things being equal, the worst case scenario is that Facebook's CPM will go down due to their ads becoming less effective/valuable.

Cox sues CDK, cites anticompetitive practices

Is there anyone in the dealership world that is on CDK/ReyRey's side here? Obviously, there isn't a popular vote component of the legal system, but they could lose their trump card over the automotive industry while their brand is universally hated. Not good for CDK.

    What would you do?????

Pricing should be tied to/aligned with sales as closely as possible. The good ad agencies would love to get all of the business currently going to bad vendors, so it's not just dealerships interested in creating these pricing structures.

Are you trying to CUT your way to growth?

Cargurus, Please tell me how this benefits your customer (aka... The Dealer)????

The Dealer Price being there seems to be the main problem. I think with just the MSRP and the Average Price Paid, customers could see the dealership consistently gives a good deal.

The dance analogy fits right in line with this. A good dance partner isn't necessarily someone who is...

How do you Montor Your Reputation Online?

It usually takes multiple good interactions to get a positive review, but only one bad interaction to get a negative review. I always recommend thinking about where you're having multiple interactions with your customers and start asking happy customers to leave reviews. One area like this...

    Direct Mail Retargeting

Companies like Oracle are going all in with buying Consumer Data so they can cross-reference any slice of an individual's data and match it to the rest. On the plus side, it helps marketers with attribution so it might lead to some of the snake oil being exposed. But marketers definitely have an...

The Myth of Selling Cars to Millennials

People talk about millennials and their "Avacado Toast", but as a millennial who grew up during the Recession, I think we're much more price-conscious as a group than people give us credit for. When we go to a website, we look at what we want and we look at the price. If we can't quickly see a...
