Crowdsourced Website That Tracks Car-Dealer Markups

I went to my local Toyota dealership, same store I've bought 3 cars from in the past, they're adding between $3000-$8000 on top of MSRP depending on model. I pointed out to them, with info that I saw on that website, that there's 6 other Toyota stores within 40 miles that are committing to MSRP...

BREAKING news! Carvana & Vroom is bleeding cash. Is Ecommerce in auto DOA?

I wonder how many cars you need to sell to employ enough lawyers to defend the state and federal lawsuits they're facing.... Can you imagine buying stock at it's peak of $360....

    GM Launches CarBravo

Curious to hear everyone's thoughts on GM launching their new CarBravo platform. Good thing? Bad thing? They're saying it's optional but...is it really? Will there be a lot of pressure on the stores that choose not to take part? I have more questions after reading their press release than...

Vender Request Meetings - Time Zones

I always check to see what time zone they're in before making a call, just part of the homework that goes into prospecting, and ALWAYS suggest the time based on wherever they are, ie don't say "how is 1pm eastern" if they're on the West coast. I have the Calendly link in my signature too, never...

Cars.com School Bus Ridership Continues to Lag as 54% of Parents Choose to Drive Kids to School This Year

I plan on letting the kids use my mother-in-law's broom to get to school... I'll 2nd what @craigh mentioned above, the numbers paint a strange story - 55% say COVID is the primary concern as to why they're driving their kids, what's the other 45%'s issue?

Sorry if I wasn't clear - I don't work at TradePending, I answered Dan's question earlier in the thread b/c I had talked to Matt offline about their product and had an answer.

@Matthew Davis hope you don't mind me jumping in and responding to @Dan Sayer's question. It's a link that lives in the "Products" section of your GMB. Once clicked it takes the consumer to a landing page on the dealer website where they can enter their vehicle info to get a value for their trade.

Watch fanatics? Rolex, Omega, Tudor, Casio (the God Watch)

I have one. There's a lot I don't like about it, but I will say look at my phone way less when I'm wearing it, which is always a good thing. When I'm not wearing it I find myself checking my phone constantly for emails, texts, etc, the apple watch really cuts down on that.

Watch fanatics? Rolex, Omega, Tudor, Casio (the God Watch)

Stealing that line. I usually go with "you don't have to fly first class to enjoy travel", but that's a good one.

Watch fanatics? Rolex, Omega, Tudor, Casio (the God Watch)

I've still never been happier than when I was 8 and I got the classic 80's Casio Calculator watch that Marty McFly wore in Back to the Future. I'm still chasing that high. I'll second @BrianEpro on the Tag Monaco, always loved that one. I know this brand isn't in the same universe as Tag...

    Google My Business adds inventory

I worked at CarGurus for over 12 years, I remember during interviews they would ask prospective hires "who is our biggest competition?", and the answer they were looking for (rarely did anyone actually say it) was Google and Facebook. Most people answered with the usual suspects - AT, Cars.com...

Do you use an email marketing company?

Before the email is even sent it's really important to make sure that all emails render properly on every device. Something like 53% of all emails (that number can vary a little, I've seen 46%-55%) are opened on a smartphone or tablet, it's crazy to me the number of dealers we work with that...

Driving with Alexa - Amazon In Your Car

Not sure I need that much connectivity, but it's nice to have the option I guess. I remember when getting CarPlay seemed like a big deal. We use Amazon Music through CarPlay, not sure I need more than that. Also, HUGE pet peeve of mine, I hope the remote isn't $400 to replace (Fire TV in the...

7 Review Benchmarks for 2021 | Local Marketing Insider #001

Cool stuff @jakehughes. For number 5, was there a big difference in average ratings by source? Was the average rating on Google very different vs the average on CarGurus? Interested to see how reviewers are responding/rating on different platforms.

    602% rate increase - Cargurus

I believe, unless things have changed since I worked there, that you can put a limit on the radius so that you won't receive leads from people that are more than X amount of miles away. Back out the leads that came from more than 100 miles away from your store and push back with the actual...
