But your Branded Keyword Campaign is doing so well...

Which campaign is that keyword list from, that looks like the 'Brand' campaign? I'd be weary of the other campaigns, their CTR is typical (very high) of branded searches, even though they may not be bidding on branded keywords. They could be using broad match, and despite bidding on a...

But your Branded Keyword Campaign is doing so well...

Ouch, 2nd largest campaign by cost goes to the dealer name. Wasted money at that price. How many of those were on mobile? Ads make the mobile experience far worse for the customer, as GMB (which likely shows up first) is a much better option than the more limiting Search Ad. I'd also ask...

Digital Retailing for Dealers - What are your results?

Hi John, this is exactly what I just got off the phone about with a CDJR dealer. "Leads are down" is how the conversation starts. The problem is they removed "Get ePrice", it was their highest converting CTA button on their SRP/VDPs and they've replaced it, trying to FORCE people into using...

    Custom Audiences With Facebook

Are all VDP Views considered equal?

Thanks JD, I would agree with you there is a definite difference between them.

Are all VDP Views considered equal?

If you were to compare the value of a VDP view on your own dealership website vs. 3rd party listing website (ie. AutoTrader, cars.com etc.), would you say they're of equal value or is one better than the other? Considering the environment the user is in on 1 site vs. the other. Someone viewing...

    Dealer.com and inline CSS

GTM is implemented using a tag which references some javascript and an iframe. It's like adding Google Analytics code to a website. You get the GTM tag from Google and ask DDC to add it to your site. We have plenty of DDC dealers with GTM installed on it. If they won't then that's another...

    Dealer.com and inline CSS

That works too! I prefer it out of the hands of someone else though (in this case DDC), so GTM is where we place it (also allows to load custom CSS on specific pages, rather than global-only). Both great work-arounds.

    Dealer.com and inline CSS

Very easy solution, works on every platform available. Google Tag Manager. Once the GTM tag is added to your DDC site you can create a tag to load your custom CSS, no need to bother with speaking to anyone about permissions. Simple, free and solves the problem. We do it on 4 different...

    Outrageous PPC CPC for Jeep/Chrysler

Look at auction insights. You could be outbidding the OEM who has much bigger pockets to afford outrageous $20+ CPC. #1 is not always the best place to be. Dig through some search terms reports. Find some exact match keywords you get a lot. Bid on some of those and aim for a QS of 10/10...

The gold standard to compare is? Bounce Rate? Conversion?

Bounce rate as a whole is not good, you have to compare bounce rate by traffic source and destination. Advertising direct to VDP will have a much higher bounce rate, you gave them exactly what they wanted right away. If you get them to a landing page, then provide links to inventory, you're...

    Is social played-out yet?

How would you define usage? Checking what's new, or posting/sharing? I think there's a big difference in those two. I know plenty of people who still check it but update very little now.

Prices on website... yes or no?

Amazon shows prices, Apple shows prices, small shops on Etsy show prices, Craigslist, Kijiji and everyone knows eBay shows prices. I'm sure you can find more, and they've touched almost every single online user, this is what people expect. People want prices, people want fast, if you make...

    All Digital vs. All Traditional

I'm hoping someone here would recall an article that covered the results of a dealership within a large AG where they did a test between going all digital, vs. all traditional (then a mix). I can't for the life of me find it (no clue what site it was on, Wards Auto came to my mind but Google...

    Best dealership website you've seen?

Heat maps and A/B testing. Not something a lot of website vendors make easy to implement with 3rd party tools. It's the ONLY way to answer this question. Too much guessing/thinking, it can be answered with fact. Simplicity is key and find out what nobody uses and remove it, don't worry...

    Reputation Management Comp Buying Likes?

I'd like to point out that looking at inflated like count alone doesn't mean the dealership used a shady reputation management company. Kevin's post with 54k likes is beyond obvious they were purchased, but by whom you don't know. (Unless I'm missing something). The dealership can easily to...
