Active SRP/VDP CTA vs the usual?

Either way is going to come down to how your staff handles the "leads". I've seen stores go both ways with varying degrees of success so it just depends on your market. If your team is able to respond to chats right away and convert them then that's great. If you're going to rely on one of the...

    What Are In-House SEO's & Marketers making?

For what its worth, they could hire an SEO vendor for probably $1500 to $2000 per month and they wouldn't need to provide benefits, unemployment insurance, or any of that. That'll be what you're up against more than anything.

How do you get around giving up price over the phone?

Honestly, find a real dealership. If you're going to be on the internet side of the business you need to find a progressive and modern dealership. If not, you'll have an uphill battle.

Transition for internet person to salesperson

I agree with what everyone else has suggested and I'll add one idea that might be easier for you to implement. Set the appointment for a manager. We set new car appts for the new car manager and used car appts for the used car manager. Then we make them aware of anything they need to know. This...

    Recommendation for uploading photos

We use Firstlook as well but have DealerSpecialties handle our photos. You can upload photos to individual vehicles in Firstlook but you can also click "Bulk Upload" on the main inventory page. Top right of the screen. That'll allow you to upload several photos at once and just choose the...

GM Dealers - Share your thoughts on the new CDK Website

While it's a pain to adjust, I think it's a great thing. The mobile sites are going to make a big difference. Over 70% of my traffic is mobile so I'm happy they will have the same experience as our desktop visitors. As for editing it, I've spent the past 2 days getting used to it and it grows...

    Re Tooling BDC Process

Yes, you need more people. Maybe you can try some part time people to help with the workload? The best time-saver idea I have is something you're probably already doing and that's automated emails. That saved us a ton of a time. I would also look at any processes that may be wasting your reps'...

Any of you guys completely moved away from Cable TV to strictly Internet TV??

I bought a FireStick at Bestbuy a few months ago and installed Kodi myself in 20 minutes. Don't overpay someone to install it for you. The stick is $40 at most places. As far as streaming live channels, the best addon is Phoenix and it's still pretty poor. As you mentioned, YES, you will find...

Best Way to Get Acquainted with Auto Dealerships?

Great question! I think the idea of hanging out a dealership for a day is probably a good way to begin to understand what goes on on the front lines. We had a lady that did this about a month ago and it was clear from the start that she had been forced to do it by a superior. She didn't show...

    Appointment display board

We use the same thing as @Jeff Kershner , basically. Google Slides and chromecast. I cast it from a browser tab on my computer and we update it throughout the day. All you have to do is F5 to refresh when you add an appt.

    Internet Appointment Rotation HELP!!!

Set them for the Sales Manager and let him do a reverse TO to whatever salesperson he wants. Then it's his decision. He may feel like a certain salesperson will be better with a certain customer. The customer also gets the added VIP treatment of coming in and asking for the sales manager. We...

Vendors are always messing up my day...

I'm usually a good sport as long as two requirements are met: Don't bother me at the end of the month (the last 5 days) Don't cold call me and not allow me to speak for the first 45 seconds to let you know I'm in the middle of something. Other than that, I usually learn something useful even...

    BDC Call Help!!!

Are you in the same room as your reps? That's one of the best ways to manage activity. Just be present and hear the calls/voicemails being made. If your CRM doesn't have a report, you can create a simple tracker using a spreadsheet or even use paper. We use a shared spreadsheet where they tick...

    9 pics per vehicle??

They saw a higher lead submission rate but how many of those leads said "Could you send more photos?"

    Desking Spreadsheets?

Most DMS's and CRM's have a quick quote feature. I don't know that it makes sense to enter the info twice.

    Gubagoo Chat

To echo what others are saying, I've dabbled with all of them and the mobile/sms part is usually the dealbreaker for me. You guys are currently using ContactAtOnce which I've had the most consistent results with. What do you feel like your current solution is missing?

if pictures sell cars, then why not NEW cars?

Yes, I do outside photos only because usually that suffices and looks way better than a stock photo. The reason we started doing it is for the same reason you mentioned...none of our competitors shoot photos of their new cars so I think it makes our inventory stand out on vehicle search pages.

    cars.com price increase

We took a break from Cars.com for a year or so also because of poor lead quality and almost zero ROI. About 2 months ago we decided to give it another shot and I can assure that nothing has changed for us. Actually, if anything, I've noticed that the leads are even worse now. It's almost 100%...
