Lights Camera Action - Photo Studio Thoughts 2014

So there is an article on how stock photos are horrible, and a discussion on how to build an area that makes your actual photos look stock? Look at the screen shot of the thumbnails above, looks like evox photos. Why not stage cars outside, hopefully with the building as a backdrop. A Dealer...

New Car Photos - Stats and Ideas

Obviously as a lot service company owner, I disagree about in house being better. All my guys do, every day, is photo cars. They can do it quicker and better than anyone that does not do it full time. They know how to stage, and how to "sell" the car through the photos. They take about 3500...

Tracking the Used Car Reconditioning Process

I like this idea, and I have seen others like it. It has one huge flaw, someone at the dealer needs to input the info. They will for the first 2 weeks, then stop

How to handle a lot hog.

Is he selling 25 cars a month to people that are asking for him, or from fresh ups? If it is from fresh customers, you need to remind management that those cars will still be sold, and the customers will be happier. Those people were on the lot anyway, and most people that come on the lot are...

    Best Camera for Online Photos

I bought 5 of these to try out, figuring an all in one solution would be nice for my guys. They took horrible photos compared to the cameras we already use. I had to pay a restocking fee to return them, and there is one here on the shelf, in the box, getting dusty. I wanted it to work, but it...

Where does Carguru get the inventory? What about prices with no disclaimer?

I have had 3 dealer groups ask me where Carguru is getting the data feed from in the last few weeks. The issue is the prices on that site do not have the dealers disclaimers on them and they are getting complaints. There is no contact number for them and emails go unanswered. One Dealer has a...

Tracking the Used Car Reconditioning Process

I am a third party photo guy. We hit our stores a minimum of 2 times a week, so worse case it sits clean for a day. I'd rather hold off the shop for a day to have photos of a clean car. Our biggest issue is having cars sit for days at a time and not being cleaned, then the dealer wants to...

Tracking the Used Car Reconditioning Process

If you want it online with photos in 72 hours why send it to the shop first? Why not send it to clean up, then photos, then shop? Worse case it ends up being a wholesale car and you are sending a clean car to the sale.

    Used Car Optional Equipment

Not a good example there. The first listing does say 3rd row seat in the list, no need for the Dealer to add it (He added leather also, and from what I see the truck has cloth) You dealer also added third row seat in the comments along with power sunroof, power windows and locks, etc. Did you...

HomeNet issues... How bad are they? Phones are down all day Today

It is not a permissions issue, as they have the correct permissions. Change a price and it says it saved but it never changes. It does not change if I use my log in. With my log in some dealers price changes take, they don't take on other dealers. Same log in, same permissions. I have 3...

HomeNet issues... How bad are they? Phones are down all day Today

I have a dealer group that has wrong pricing and the pricing matrixes will not work. When they try to save them manually they don't save. Is anyone else having this issue or is it the computers at the store?

HomeNet issues... How bad are they? Phones are down all day Today

Sean, Seeing as this is the only way to get a response (currently on hold for 22 mins.) Who do I talk to about the dealers that can't save pricing? How do I get the cars that are showing up in the wrong dealer to stop showing up after deleting them every day for two weeks? The cars that we...

    Windshield Custom Printed Sticker anyone???

It does not have anything to do with photos. It is windshield banners and full car banners. It is a service related business, as in they do all of the work. The local Dealer Specialties franchise (My lot service competition!) owns it as a separate business. The website is here: OnSight...

    Windshield Custom Printed Sticker anyone???

Its a franchise. There is a guy here in Baltimore selling them. They do it as a service where they make them and install them. My local Dodge store that had 40 used in stock said the guy told him $1200 per month based on the 40 in stock assuming he was selling 25... I found the guys number...

Question for the MD Dealers out there...Or anyone, for that matter.

Seeing as they had it cleaned and photographed, I think they knew what they were doing. Did the disclaimer say anything about MSI fees? There are other Dealers here in MD that advertise a low price and say it does not include MSI..... That is a lousy way to do it.

Question for the MD Dealers out there...Or anyone, for that matter.

I don't think you can legally take someone on a test drive if the car is not inspected.
