Early Adopters of Wearables Have an Advantage?

Apple Watch for Early Adopters? lol Wearables have been around for a few years and from what I have seen of the apple watch it definitely a much more polished option. It is version 2.0 of wearables, the first were devices like the fitbit etc that didn't have a OS to speak of and just showed...

    Reynolds Capcha

It's the same thing. I don't think anyone will ever understand Reynolds naming conventions. The instructions I have inforton of me say RMI Dynamic Reporting Quick Reference Guide (ZB246). I'm surprised even for a company like reynolds that the systems would vary so much from the US to Canada.

Use a Raspberry PI. Have it set to open a webpage in kiosk mode on boot and either update that page or use google slides with autoplay on. Total cost, $75 + TV. Just reboot it every time you make an update.

    Dealership Phone Systems

We went with Shoretel for our phones and its been great so far. We have 8 buildings over 2 locations and not many issues at all. It was also relatively cheap.

    ERA access for Multipule connections

We have 2 reynolds server for different stores, there is no way to make a shortcut/launch parameter to choose which store to use :( The only option is open up Software Manager or Connection Settings and change the server. I will play around with a .bat file and the registry and see if I can get...

    Reynolds Capcha

Yes it is. You should have received a red/orange envelope from Reynolds marked important with all the instructions on how to move move to RMI inside. I have moved a lot of reports over and after filing a few system bugs it's really smooth and a lot faster then query builder. If everything is...

    Email Provider

We ended up going with Google Apps compared to Exchange Online Plan 1 for a few reasons: They have been doing hosted services a lot longer than Microsoft Its only $1 a month more but gives web apps and support for legacy platforms (Office 2003), IM Better integration with Thunderbird MS might...

    Email Provider

Email is one of those things that no matter who you use as a provider, even yourself there is never any expectation of privacy. Email is a old protocol that is very easy to read as it is traveling around the internet. The best you can do it have your own server and who really wants the headaches...

    Reynolds Lockouts - Query Builder

I notice that the Reynolds rep hasn't chimed in on this yet. Really there is no possible defense to their actions. Out of about 75 users we have had 1 false positive ban, I'm surprised we haven't had more.

What to do about Windows XP and your existing PCs

Thanks for the information (once you read past the obvious sales push). I have been looking at some way to explain to management that Windows XP is dying and our technology is archaic.

    Recommended software

I have been having a lot of luck with Spiceworks, it's not quite a NMS but it has a lot of the features of one. Best of all, its free! The only thing that I am running into is we don't have a Windows Domain Controller so the configuration changes to support it are manual accross 100 computers.

Am I supposed to memorize the used Car inventory??

That what we do and it doesn't appear to an issues for any of the salesmen. They get a list about every other day of all our used inventory (~400) sorted by price with key information on it. Most of them just keep it folded in their back pocket for a day or 2 until they get a new one.

    Email Provider

I looked at 365 and Priced it out. I like the idea of exchange but for 95% of our users it would be overkill. Besides almost everyone here is using LibreOffice/Thunderbird instead of MS Office.

    Email Provider

What is everyone out there using as an Email provider? Are there any that are sales focuses and don't cost a fortune? We are using Reynolds for our group domain and Dreamhost for child domains. I have looked into Rackspace and so far its cheapest option at $2/account for 10gb and IMAP.

    LP01 - TI880 Required?

Is a TI880 still required? According to our local Reynolds tech we still need to have a LP01/TI880 for some reports. Is this true? Does anyone else out there still uses these old boat anchors? I understand the F&I Printers but the TI880 seams like it should be possible to replace it with a NET...

    General Motors and SIEM

Yeah, they are trying to tell us "Its the Law!". If it was the law our other OEM's would be after us to implement it as well. Talking to our local Reynolds rep, hes seen it at other GM dealers and causes nothing but headaches.
