Which site produces most results of customer inquiries leading to sales? Used to operate with true car carfax and car gurus then stopped retail sales. Now that we are starting to sell retail debating if worth the time/money to sign back up with one of these sites.

The challenge isn't which site- We've all been trained to use websites to price shop (thanks Amazon) and unless you are willing to offer prices lower than anyone else in your market, you lose! By the time the customer hits the internet the profit in the sale is gone.

The alternative is to do the hard work and building a reputation that inspires potential customers to seek you out first.

Without someone we like and know we can trust, price always wins.

Every market is different. I think Truecar is (mostly) dead or on borrowed time at this point. There's just no value proposition as a buyer.
Carfax, CarGurus, Autotrader, Cars.com - all work to varying degrees in different markets. May take some trial and error to find out which one(s) are right in your market. But I think there's definitely value in the classified sites still.
