Fiat Chrysler Teams Up With Amazon to Sell Cars Online

Could this be applied in the US? Maybe in larger cities... prices up to a third cheaper? I wonder what the dealers think?

It is already in practice in the US with used vehicles through several independents.

This is not the first time Amazon has done this, in fact it is only becoming more frequent and with different OEMs.

They also released a special edition Mini Cooper about a month ago in India.

This is a problem that dealerships and OEMs are trying to solve now. The balance between automotive Ecommerce and brick and mortar experience. Many have developed partnerships that allow for at minimum a speeding up of in store processes if not fully allowing an online transaction.

The bigger problem and the secret sauce to being a national player in online vehicle sales is the logistics infrastructure needed to pull this off. Amazon has a huge head start there.
