IMO, that salary is a little low if you're looking for someone with a good bit of automotive BDC experience (understands the industry and lingo). No offense.

That's where my head was going.
Good BDR experience (if you know how to sell) can make big money.
Bad BDR experience means you're looking for a job and will take 45,000
:)

I so appreciate the insight you guys are giving. We are being flooded with apps for many of our positions, but are struggling to gain traction with this one. As I said, the salary goes up to 65k for the right person, but if that is still low, I need to regroup with Upper-Level management. I so appreciate you guys letting me post on here and for this excellent feedback.

Thanks for the insight! I don't set the ranges on pay, but will relay the message. I know they have allotted up to 65,000 for the position and the right candidate.
That would be the low end for a quality person, but then again I've not seen the entire job description. If there are incentives built into it, then you're talking with a 65,000 base. SD, California cannot be cheap. Just sayin...' :)

Here is the full job description:
Client Strategy Specialist, Key Accounts:

Selling on our team is fun, and if we are being honest, it is pretty easy. We work with car dealerships providing social media and online reputation strategy, the two biggest places they need to be represented.

Our ideal candidate:
  • Loves sales but does not want to do cold calls - this position is only working with current clients talking strategy and how we can improve their business.
  • Has worked in a car dealership in the BDC or Internet sales - we work with a lot of car dealerships, in order to speak their language, having a background in these positions will give you instant credibility in the industry and on client calls.
  • Enjoys talking on the phone, visiting clients in-person, and doing a little bit of travel - the position involves working with clients, so actually communicating with them regularly is a must!
  • Knows the difference between when to use reply and reply all - seems like a simple ask, but not everyone gets it! We want to work with people that do.
  • Isn’t scared of using a CRM - we are busy people at Friendemic and the more you talk with clients, the more they want to talk with you and BUY from you, so in order to stay organized, you have to use our CRM. If you also have experience on using a dealership CRM/DMS system, even better!
  • Is on social media and writes online reviews - social and reputation management is what we do for our clients. If you don’t do either, it is impossible to relate what we do to the clients.
  • Uses software regularly and couldn’t imagine your day without it - software is what keeps us organized and in communication with our teams all over the country. We use Slack, Asana, PipeDrive, Dropbox, Zoom, and many more. Have experience with those or similar ones? FANTASTIC.
  • Doesn’t get intimidated easily - we mentioned we worked with car dealerships, those are run by General Managers that have a lot going on. Having thin skin will get you nowhere.
The dealership just needs to know, from us, the best & newest ways to help them sell more cars and schedule more service appointments. Everytime you make a sale at Friendemic, an alert goes into our #Sales Slack channel and everyone cheers. It is pretty exciting!

If you are looking for a job, we don’t have those. But, if you are looking for a career, a place where you can be a part of something where you get to build products, processes and relationships, a place where our main expectation for you is to leave your mark, we may have a place for you here at Friendemic.
We also have all the other important things including: Health Insurance, 401k, Paid Time-Off, and most importantly a diverse, inclusive culture made up of really cool, talented people.

Position open immediately. Salary range is $45k - $65k depending on experience and qualifications. Don’t have a college degree? We don’t care. At Friendemic we believe experience and actions speak louder than pieces of paper.
