Google My Business Glitch Of The Day!

So GMB has been acting a little strange lately, hasn't it?

Now we are experiencing an ownership issue which is allowing owners to take the primary ownership as seen in the attached video.

Is anyone else dealing with this?

Hi Christopher -

To my knowledge, this is how it has always functioned. GMB Help even references that any owner will see the dropdown option to transfer primary ownership: https://support.google.com/business/answer/3415281?hl=en

GMB has plenty of bugs, but this isn't one :)

@Ryan Everson is correct, that has always been like that. @Christopher Reggie this is why you don't ever give a 3rd party or agency Owner permissions.

In GMB Support's own words: "Each listing can have multiple owners, but only one primary owner. Owners and primary owners have the same capabilities, but a primary owner cannot remove themselves from a listing until they transfer their primary ownership to another user."

This avoids a GMB listing with no Owner... It's a safety net. See below for full permission differences:

@Christopher Reggie this is why you don't ever give a 3rd party or agency Owner permissions.

Also why you don't let them setup your Google, Facebook or any other accounts.
Make sure you setup your own accounts and grant a lower level access to all vendors, otherwise you end up losing control, data or the ability to own your own presence.
