As a habit, I love to shop my competitors and even non competitors. Keeps me up on tactics and general follow up. I thought I would post a few of the follow up emails I have received.

This one was sent a few days after my inquiry :

I just wanted to touch base with you to see if you were still interested in the 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour 4WD EX-L.

If you are still in the market and have any questions or concerns I would like to assist if possible. If you are no longer in the market for any reason that’s o.k. too. I would still like to know so that I could remove you from the company’s mailing / call list in an effort to not disturb you.
I appreciate your time and look forward to hearing from you either way.

Here's another one that came 5 days after 1st my inquiry:

We have dropped our prices on various models!
There is special financing on various models.
You didn't get paint protection or under coating?
Thought that was a waste of money?
Have you looked out the window?
It's not too late
Call or E-mail me for pricing details!

2 days later :
Recently I received a vehicle inquiry from you about a 2010 Honda Accord, and I responded promptly with pricing and availability, but I have not heard back from you.
It's not my intention to overwhelm you with e-mails, but I am very interested in helping you buy your next vehicle.
It is my intent to provide you with a great online experience in your upcoming purchase.
Please let me know:
1. Did you receive the emails I sent to you?
2. Was the information I sent what you needed?
3. What do we need to do next in order to proceed with your upcoming purchase?
Please take a moment to respond and I'll be sure to follow up with you promptly.
I know your time is valuable and I won't waste it.

Here's another one. The Subject Line said your 1900 Nissan Altima

Or emails that state they will be my internet specialist from start to finish.

It's fasciating how quickly dealers want to know if they should take you off their list.

How they don't want to waste my time.

Or assume you received their email.

Hey Jerry, do you want some companies you could solicit for business ? On second thought, I want them to stay exactly the same way.

Here's the newest one. Apparently I am looking for a 1900 Nissa Altima.

It's Dwight Mitchell again from ****Security Nissan. I am just following up in reference to a request you had submitted for information on the 1900 Nissan Altima. Please give me a call or I'll give you another call to see if you are still in the market.

If you are not ready to buy just yet, please let me know when might be a good time to follow-up.

Respectfully,

Can you please share with us what exactly you learned from this endeavor that you did not already know? While you're at it, I'd also please like to know why you believe a salesperson who is paid on commision should participate in your quest for knowledge while they are on the clock trying to earn a living? Can't you just ask somebody for a copy of their templates? Frankly, I fail to see what else someone can get out of this.
