Have you ever had to struggle to figure out how to structure URLs for your AdWords ads so that you could concatenate large numbers of them in Excel? The new Ford Fusion ads need to go to the new Ford Fusion SRP. The used Toyota Tacoma ads need to go to the used Toyota Tacoma SRP. You get the idea.

Well, I put together a handy list for about 15 common dealer website platforms. Dealer.com, CDK, DealerInspire, DealerOn, etc. You can view the list at http://help.hootinteractive.net/#cms-guide.

Some of these may look a little funny because of special requirements we had. For example, in the Dealer eProcess URL templates, the "+%2B" preceding make and model are used to force only search results that match all query parameters to show. Otherwise, ?q=Ford+Fusion would return all Ford vehicles if a Fusion wasn't in inventory.

If you have similar URL maps for other website platforms, please share.

Interesting, your thought processes. I have been after something similar. You're on to something.

This probably doesn't exist (considering the vast amount of automotive web platform providers), but a list of best practices and / or Google Analytics Goal standards (plenty of fixed URLs and request URIs / uniform resource identifier and even dynamically generated -- generally stay the same per website outside of the unique identifiers) for each of the platforms, would be extremely helpful.

Considering the many variations of URL structures, nomenclatures, etc., this would benefit many agencies and dealers doing their own web performance analysis. Anyone seen this out there?

We can provide a list of US and or Canada dealers and the wedsite provider/providers they use. We also have all the active dealer listing URL's for the VDP page for all new and used inventories with SRP. This is data is from 50,443 dealer websites. As of yesterday, we show active dealer listings of 2.4Mil. used and 3.2 Mil. new. We can also do a list of dealers by website provider showing how many dealers use that provider and who the dealers are using them.
There are several dealer service providers using our dealer data instead of going through their subscribed dealers DMS.
Perhaps we could help?

Hey Troy, I love the inventory feed, but I'm also specifically after "We also have all the active dealer listing URL's for the VDP page for all new and used inventories with SRP."

This will help MANY people set up goals much easier, if we have a running list of VDP and SRP nomenclature lists of each web platform vendor.
