2010 is the year of Consolidation

They need one sales platform that creates collaboration and imrpoves efficiencies. Vendors acquiring other vendors doesn't necessarily create that. They end up owning a bunch of companies and tools that still don't work together.

Unless of course, the goal of the acquisition is integration. The purchasing of companies or softwares should allow the buyer to rebuilt, reshape and mold it so that it fits perfectly into their existing platform with seamless integration...and with an end-goal in mind.

Purchasing just for the sake of increased market share or revenue isn't a long-term approach. So Matt, if that's what you are referring to, then I agree.
