The Ron Tonkin Family of Dealerships is a nationally recognized dealer group in Portland, Oregon with $550 million in annual revenues. We are seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to manage Underwriting and Collections for our In-House Finance company. Auto Acceptance is Tonkin’s centralized Buy Here, Pay Here finance arm, supporting 16 franchises and 13 dealerships in the Portland Metro area. BERCO Billing Service supports Tonkin Parts Center, one of the nation’s largest Wholesale Parts operations.
The General Manager is primarily responsible for maximizing the profitability of our existing and future portfolio, while managing risk and ensuring stability and compliance with bank/lending requirements: 1) Evaluate credit-worthiness and make underwriting decisions for auto loans to our sub-prime customers; 2) Supervise a staff of experienced collectors, accountants, and customer service personnel; 3) Retail vehicles sales; 4) Collections and Management of Wholesale Parts Accounts Receivable from our Business to Business Parts customers; 5) Marketing of Auto Acceptance to our dealerships, and relationship development with our General Managers, to conservatively grow the portfolio.
Position requires: 1) Minimum three years of comparable sub-prime lending experience in a Multi-Dealership environment; 2)Demonstrable underwriting and risk evaluation knowledge; 3) Excellent management , supervisory, customer relations and relationship building skills; 4) In-depth knowledge of subprime and in-house financing regulation and compliance; 5) College degree or equivalent work experience, Great Plains software experience a plus; 6) Able to meet corporate hiring requirements – Valid Driver’s license, clean driving record pass criminal and credit background check and pre-employment drug screen.
