Large Group Centralized BDC

As you build out your BDC, here are a couple of resources that have helped others:

This article overcomes all of the excuses your stores will create to stop you: http://askthemanager.com/2015/07/here-is-every-reason-you-should-not-create-a-centralized-bdc/

This video series details the 5 "Must Haves" for your BDC to do more than just tread water: http://stevestauning.com/the-5-must...ssful-automotive-business-development-center/

While there are lots of successful centralized BDCs covering a few stores, the large centralized BDCs out there don't seem to be driving incremental volume (mostly because they violate all 5 of the Must Haves) and I wouldn't recommend learning from them. However, I'm certainly not familiar with every BDC out there today, so perhaps someone can give an example of one that's driving sales.

Dan,

I created a centralized BDC for the LaFontaine Automotive Group. You can check out the group at www.FamilyDeal.com I run our Marketing Department now and the BDC is still intact w/3 centralized facilities each covering multiple stores. I'd be happy to discuss your concerns and plans about your centralized BDC.

How many dealerships does the BDC work for?

Yes. I've been with the group since 2009. I'm the Marketing Director.
What were some of the pitfalls that you came across when you first built the BDC? With 15 rooftops to communicate with, what was their method to reach the employee they needed at each dealership when they needed assistance? Did they handle internet leads, phone ups, live chat, etc?
