Yesterday Brian Pasch and PCG Digital Marketing awarded the first Automotive Website Awards (AWA) Lighthouse Award - It couldn't have gone to a better choice or a better guy!

Congratulations to Alex Snyder, recipient of the
2010 AWA Lighthouse Award

The challenge of educating the automotive community is a large one. As the automotive industry increases its reliance on digital marketing, website technology, analytics, and mobile applications, it must find ways to educate its members. Some of the best education is coming from industry peers.

The 2010 AWA Lighthouse Award is recognizing one individual in the automotive community who serves the online community unselfishly with thoughtful articles, encouragement, and engagement. The award was created to encourage others to serve the online community with their experience passionately.

A survey of online automotive communities had one person leading the voting results on these three questions:

  • Which automotive community member’s writings do you like to read the most?
  • Which active automotive community member’s writings and/or commentary are the LEAST self promotional?
  • Which one member of the online community do you wish wrote more articles for the betterment of the automotive community?
And this same individual was one of the top four voted people in this question:

  • If you had to select FOUR people that would represent your ideal cast for a one day online workshop on any topic or series of topics that are timely for car dealers, who would they be?

The 2010 AWA Lighthouse Award recipient Alex Snyder is the Director of Product Research at Dealer.com. He is responsible for helping shape the future of the company’s product line.

Prior to joining Dealer.com, Mr. Snyder was the director of e-commerce at Checkered Flag Automotive Group and was instrumental in their becoming a top 100 e-Commerce Dealer in varying automotive publications, as well as the No. 1 dealership website of the year in 2008.

Thanks guys :)

But don't forget that DealerRefresh also won the community website award. That's all of us!

Got to sit at this awards ceremony with O'l Uncle Joe.....these were the 2 most well deserved awards in the ceremony. What Alex has provided for conversation and what DealerRefresh and this forum have accomplished are way different than the awards given to technology providers who get paid for there services. Couldn't be prouder to be part of this community.

Thank you everyone here who continue my education every day.
