Hey All,

I'm new to DealerRefresh after googling this exact topic and ending up here. I'm trying to get a sense of what dealers are paying CarGurus and others on a "cost per lead" basis in 2024? I've seen $15, but that seems like an outdated number. As a sports car and exotic car enthusiast, I recently built Super Veloce - Save Time and Money Buying Your Dream Car With AI to help folks use AI to find their dream car. We're currently getting a few hundred leads per day on specific vehicles and I'm looking to figure out the best pricing, value proposition to dealers, etc. for customers looking to buy sports cars, luxury cars, and exotic cars in their inventory.

Any feedback, even if ballpark ranges, would be incredibly helpful. Thanks!

Very creative use of data to generate buyer engagement... well done.

"...NO MINIVANS HERE" hahhaaa
@superveloce your svc aims at an audience -and- "exotic VINs only", so the cost per lead by a traditional dealer is not relevant. A few ideas...
  1. You need to hard-wire your deal sniping with a service that'll complete the sale. Otherwise your service will be in visible to the seller. May I suggest that you partner with Safely Buy And Sell Used Cars Privately | PrivateAuto | PrivateAuto (or similar).
  2. Put your sniping service behind a paywall.
  3. Partner with BAT (or similar).
Like where u are going.

Thanks so much for the feedback! There's a lot more we can do with data - going to add in options for each VDP. That's tough for cars like McLaren, but Corvettes and others have them.

Any insight into lead costs, even if for normal cars is helpful!

Yes - a big missing link is the ability to go from browsing to buying it directly or initiating outreach to the dealer. I'm able to collect leads at signup ie - this verified email address is interested in this VIN. I really want to connect buyers with dealers.

Right now the paywall works like this - you can view 10 listings per month for free. After that it's locked. In the past I've put various things behind the paywall.

Thanks again for the insights. Have enjoyed your posts here as well.
