Anybody signed up with the IRS Clean Vehicle credit site?

The one that gives the buyer a 30% credit up to $4,000 and that can be taken off the price right at the time of sale by transferring the credit to the dealer. It took me half a dozen times at the IRS site to fill out the form, as it would often say the service isn't available now, try again...

    Help with Manheim fees

While not an outright scam, it's certainly rather shady. Surprised nobody has filed a case with the FTC. Just today I called the auction to ask the buyers fee on a $6000 car in the dealer lanes. Have a customer interested in a car and obviously they want to know how much to expect before...

Salvage auction buyer fee take a big jump for small buyers today.

I wasn't complaining so much about the amount of the fees, although they are outrageous for both types of buyers, but what seems like collusion between the two companies to fix prices. And you can't really compare salvage auctions to regular auctions anyway. What if Manheim said they were going...

Salvage auction buyer fee take a big jump for small buyers today.

Just happened to check the buy fees at IAA and noticed as of Feb 1, they are starting a two tiered fee system. If you bought less than 12 units the last 12 months, your buy fee goes up like 50% depending on the sale price. For example, on a $3,000 bid, a high volume buyer would pay a $400 fee...

Did we miss memo about Auction Access charging dealers an annual fee PER Authorized Auction Rep?

You will be blocked from bidding online or from getting a bidder badge in a local sale. And what is coming next? An annual fee from Manheim and Adesa? I'm surprised they haven't done that by now as money hungry as they can be. All the salvage auctions charge a membership fee.

    Manheim charging storage fees.

I've been buying at Manheim over 25 years now and have never had a problem with leaving purchased cars there. Years ago I wouldn't pick something up for 2 or 3 months no problem. Even in the last few years, 4 or 5 weeks wasn't an issue. Now all of a sudden, I get an invoice for $20 for a car I...

    Trying to start a dealership

I drive through PA occasionally and often see car lots with what look like nothing more than a garden shed for an office. Can't speak for PA but if it has electricity, heat, phone, filing cabinet, desk and chairs, you should be golden if the zoning is OK.

    Ebaymotors search function messed up.

Just realized this after trying to find my listing by searching for it like a typical buyer would. If you choose the make, model and used, it will be there. But if you further refine it by a range of years, my listing disappears. As an experiment I tried the same process on other cars and found...

    Manheim & My Experiences

Be glad they don't charge an annual membership fee like the salvage auctions do. Or that it's free to use their site for MMR and post sale prices. For now at least.

TAKE POLL Cars.com VS AutoTrader VS CarGurus

No mention of Ebay in this discussion? As a low volume seller I can't use Auto Trader or CG. At least on Ebay you can still buy individual listings. A little pricey on a per car basis but I seem to do pretty good there.
