Nice post Eric!  More to come on the topic of conferences, but I've been to my fair share and couldn't stand it when I'd look around only to see other vendors.  The dealers that were at the conferences were there to speak so they've already bought into the new ideas.

Personally, instead of conferences with power points, how about some real substance.  For example, we are talking to dealers all the time about the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) methodology, but also giving them hard copies of example pay plans, process maps, etc.  Not just ideas, but executables.
