Did you know the average dealership has gone from an average sales team of 17.4 people to 11.3 people? That's drastic and I know you're feeling it! No wonder it is hard to answer the phone and leads.

We've crunched the numbers on what a bad phone-up game can cost and laid it all out for you in a 6 series blog.
Coming next week:
  • Part 5: Lack of follow-up
  • Part 6: How to quickly fix it

Spoiler alert: The combination of all of these things can cost over $100,000 in potential profit each month.

It's true that a bad phone-up game can really impact a dealership's performance, both in terms of customer satisfaction and potential sales. We've all been there, right?
Speaking from past experience, yes, I can agree we've all been there. The problem is too many dealers stick their heads in the sand pretending it's not that big of a problem. Sounds like you've been there before. What steps did you take to fix it?

The fact is, if potential buyers have been in contact with a dealership, generally that's a telltale sign there's varying degrees of interest. Dealerships are usually preoccupied with a range of different responsibilities. What happens is if buyers do not find the dealership to be responsive, they're very likely to connect with a different vendor. Most probably a close competitor. If hot leads are regularly slipping through the cracks, outsourcing your followup process can massively reduce this failure to close interested buyers. More importantly, outsourcing followups is a zero risk strategy with the capacity to considerably improve profitability.

CassieCrampton presents a blog series analyzing how poor phone responsiveness and lead management costs dealerships money, noting that average sales teams have shrunk from 17.4 to 11.3 people, making it harder to answer calls. The discussion highlights that unresponsive dealerships lose interested buyers to competitors and suggests outsourcing follow-up processes as a zero-risk strategy to improve profitability and reduce lost leads.
