It's been awhile since I've chimed in on anything automotive related since I left the industry after 20 plus years as the digital marketing director. The last dealership I worked at went from zero internet sales to 40%.. we broke every record as the smallest dealership in the region. The 40% increase and internet sales. The internet directors get piss all credit for. But let me tell you, the weakest link was every salesperson in that dealers. None of them bought into the digital. Even though I was giving them highly qualified leads that most of them sold the first visit. Dealerships need to fire every salesperson if they're not digitally literate. I was the first dealership in the world to implement a chat widget on the website. Only myself in my BDC person. We're using it. The other 12 lame salespeople could care less because they knew that we were feeding them great leads. Leads that we answered right away. Screened and gave comfort to those prospects that we were the right dealership and we had the right product and now was the right time. 6 years out of the automotive industry. It's still the same. Washed up mess. Because dealership, sales managers and general sales managers talk a good game when it comes to digital but they want to play the old car dealership games.
