First Step - Creating an account

Go to Yahoo! Answers - Home and sign up for an account. Select a random name, it should look realistic, not something like Ernciiio but something like George T. or Lucas M. Then choose any random birth date and input USA as the country. Be sure to have an existing email account to register your Yahoo Answer account. Keep your login and pass of the account somewhere safe, don't lose it !

Note: This account will be used to answer your own question.

Second Step - Customize your profile

Next you'll be taken to the page where you can customize your profile and avatar. I recommend leaving everything as it is except the avatar. For this account, I strongly recommend that you add an avatar (your posts will look more authentic). Save changes and close the window.

Third Step - Choose a keyword for your niche

Now it's time to choose a keyword for your product/niche. It doesn't have to be too general and should look more like a question. For example if your product is acne, your keyword should not be too broad like “acne†or “remove acne†but more like “how to get rid of acne†or “how to remove acne at home†. Remember, your title MUST include your keyword but word it in way as if you're asking a question.

AdWords Keyword tool is free and a good tool. Remember, keywords are really important not only with this strategy but for the whole online business of yours. So you better not underestimate it and do some decent keyword research before each advertisement campaign.

Fourth Step - Create a Yahoo question

Now it's time to create another account so we can use it to ask questions. You can register a few accounts from the same IP address, but when we are talking about 10-20 accounts you will need to use an IP changing tool. You can find a lot of them on the internet, just search Google for “IP changing toolâ€.

Tor: Download - Tor is a good solution. Once you have created your 2nd Yahoo Answers account it's time to create the question. Insert your keyword in question box (for example: How to get rid of acne fast)

Now write your question. It should be written in a way as if you were the one looking for answers.

For example:

Title of question : How to get rid of acne
Body: I’m suffering from acne for many years. Tried a lot of various treatments but very little of them used to help. Please give an advice of some good solution/method on the internet to get rid of nasty acne. Thank you.

Post a question and prepare for the next step.

Note: It's okay to make a few grammatical errors when it comes to writing your own question. It makes you look more human as suppose to some bot typing it if you get what I mean.

Fifth Step - Answering the Question

Now, this is where all magic happens. You need to login with your 1st yahoo account (the one with avatar). Search for the title of your question created with the 2nd Yahoo Answers account. Locate the question you asked or wait a little bit if you can't find it. Sometimes it takes awhile for the question to appear on the Yahoo Answers search engine.

Once you find it, go and answer your question. Make sure you answer it as if you're offering your advice to them.

For example:
Answer: Hi. I have had the same problem like you for a long time and I know what it’s all about. Then by chance it happened to me to come across *your website here* . This website provides a great solution for your problem. Now I said goodbye to my acne forever. No scars left at all. Big thanks to this website.

Note: Again, it's not necessary to have perfect grammar. It's your choice though.

Sixth Step – Choosing the best answer

So do you now understand how everything works? It's a simple and yet powerful method if you are using it with the right keywords. Your question will be indexed in google pretty fast. You will even see your link at the top 10 results since google gives authority to Yahoo Answers. Before we can relax and watch the traffic flow, we need to do 1 last thing. There's no point of using this system if our answer is not chosen as the "best answer".

Solution?

It's simple: wait precisely 4 hours after posting a question and then login with your 1st Yahoo Answers account (the one intended for answering your question). You then simply mark your answer as the "best answer". Don't pay attention if there are too many thumbs down under your answer post (users rating) because it'll reset once it's chosen as the "best answer".

You then rate your answer – these are green stars, choose 5/5 or 4/5. It's up to you. A short message is required after picking the best answer.

“Thank you! This is really helpful.†Or “This does make sense, thanks a lotâ€

Seventh Step – Back up the listing with Social Bookmarking

The reason we want to make social bookmarks is because it really helps boost rankings of our Yahoo answers post. Yahoo Answers is pretty fast when it comes to indexing so pinging your post isn't necessary.

There are many social bookmarking sites but we'll focus on the 3 that provide DO follow backlinks. So the most useful social bookmarking websites are:
Digg - The Latest News Headlines, Videos and Images
reddit.com: where dreams come true
www.www.propeller.com

First and foremost, register your accounts. Then submit your story to all these three sites with the URL of your Yahoo question and with an informative description. Don't forget to use your main keyword in the title and description field. By the way, if you want to target really competitive keywords with the Yahoo answers method you will need to do more than just social bookmarking.

ie. profile link building, blog commenting etc.

Important note about your link on your yahoo answer post – You may have realized that your links in the answer are not clickable. Don't panic – it's not a big of a problem. You need to get to LVL2 with your answerers Yahoo account to become eligible for clickable links. You need 250 points to get to the LVL 2. All you need to do is answer 10-20 questions a day and eventually you'll reach to LVL2.

IMPORTANT - Please Read Carefully! This technique is grey-hat but it’s not unethical or immoral unless you plan on abusing the site with spam.

If for any reason you consider having multiple accounts with Yahoo is against their policy I strongly suggest you ask your friend to answer your questions and then you select his answer as the best one.

Please do not spam Yahoo as this is not the company who will tolerate it. So promote good products and/or services to help people solve their "problems", and you'll make money, period.

Feel free to ask questions. This is just a basic outline and there is more to it if you are considering to do this on a larger scale.

Thanks.

P.S. I know I made tons of grammatical errors because I wrote this guide in the middle of the night. That's when my brain starts to blank out from time to time. So please bare with me!

Interesting approach. Can I ask what question you posted? Maybe something like "How do I find the best Ford dealership in my area?" or something like that?

Hey Kevin.

Unfortunately, I don't have an example to show. Although, I did do something similar with one of my brick and mortar business and I had exceptional results.

I was going to do this with my uncle's dealership but he's doing extremely fine in regards to sales, so I never bothered to ask.

In my opinion, if you write a question targeting those keywords then you won't get satisfying results. A quick look at google adwords will tell you that.

Instead, try to make your keywords less broad. For example: buying cars in texas.
Using google adwords, it shows that this particular long tail keyword at the month of august was being searched 850 (local = US) times.

So I would word the question this way: "buying cars in texas?"

Also try to include that keyword when you write your answer. Much more easier for google to identify what keyword you're targeting.

Be sure to use this adwords tool:
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal?forceLegacy=true

there is another version but it's mainly for PPC. So results will vary if you intend to use that instead.

So funny to see this, it jogged my memory... take a look at this - over 4 years old.

What Mercedes Dealer in Maryland has the best customer service and fair upfront pricing? - Yahoo! Answers

Yes, I admit both of these profiles are mine. I was testing this out way back when...

I was not aware of different levels and linking out. I might need to take another look at this.

In my opinion, your keywords are too broad. You probably didn't receive much traffic because you didn't do your keyword research :P

This still works especially if you do some link building apart from social bookmarking.
