Help me with my Beta

I like it....I am actually about to do something similar with a site I maintain that offers live feeds. I know why you did it but I am not a big fan of the scroll box with text that no one can read. Technically you won't get in trouble with that because it is kind of readable but it's not pretty.

I prefer something more like what this page uses Synergy Release Sports Bio | Dr. Hatrak | Miracle Man | Dr. Zoeller | Synergy Release Physician | Synergy Release Sports - Alpharetta Georgia. Just make sure you use a call to action so it can't be looked at as hiding text. It will be more appealing and search friendly without seaming like you are trying to hide it.

Note to dealers....the scroll box is ugly!!!

Overall I love the idea and suggest all dealers offer a .tv site. However it is a lot of work because no one wants to see the same videos over and over again.

..............I think i will start a video company and go after this market. Well, I guess I will be researching that at lunch today.

Joe -

Looks great.
I agree w/ Ryan there are better ways to display textual content than the textarea box. A "More Information" link at the bottom of the page with some javascript/css can accomplish the same goal and look a lot nicer.

Also, I see you're changing the vehicle description information per video loaded and including link backs to the particular vehicle on the UCK.com website. This is a very good idea but I think each vehicle video would need to have its own page in order to actually be indexed and realize the value of those link-backs. I'm not sure the limitations of the flash app you're working with but I'm sure it can be accomplished somehow.

Once you're auto-generating video "landing pages" you can create a video "sitemap" and then you're really cookin`.

thnx,

It's beta. My assistant stuffed that text box in there, that's on my to-do list.

  • I don't like the nav tabs
  • I don't like the vehicles text & links below the fold
  • I don't like the lack of interaction opportunities
If you see any examples of video players done right, PLEASE post them here.

thnx!

Joe,
As always I love the simplistic, all about the inventory approach your sites have. We all always have a few rough edges to work out. I do agree with Ryan that in order to keep it relevant this looks very labor intense to me, but we all know your not afraid of work.

Hey Joe...I ran across these guys while cold calling dealers. Yes I cold call! :). I love their site and it may have some things you can take from it Germain Toyota: Naples New Toyota Dealer, Used Toyotas, Cars, Trucks, Sales, Service; Naples, Florida; Ft Myers, Punta Gorda, Venice, Sarasota, Tampa. They just went live the other day and I know they are tweaking it.

Ryan,

GAME ON!, BOOKMARK'N IT. Good find. Only spent 30 secs and knew it had game. Well done Dealer123.

Site Design FYI.
Audio on site should be "opt-in". 70% + of site traffic is during biz hours. Office workers get busted when un-invited audio blasts out and blows their cover.

TY Craig.

Your efforts and observations are why we're here at DR. Internet Pioneers and Early adopters find nuggets of gold among the coal. We just keep pushin' and pushin' that envelope, exploring where few have gone... panning for gold.
