Doug,
A lot of people, including me, went thru this phase at DR. Is part of the process. I actually think that sometimes the "non self promo" inhibits some from truly describe how they do things and therefore teaching.
Unfortunately the fact that Manny is your friend, that he is a great guy (and I do think he is!), and that he saved children from a house fire doesn't give you any slack in here.
But the reality is that its Joe's job to maintain the forum in line as a forum moderator. I agree and I have complained before that the forum is too aggressive at times with new people. I realized long time ago that this forum is not a democratic forum believe it or not; it has rules made by a guy with a fancy haircut, it is moderated by several beautiful women, and has people like me that make people mad from time to time.
The part where I understand Manny the most:
What Manny does requires creativity and dealers don't appreciate that in general in the Digital arena, you usually get paid for what you produce and you still need to show hard results in an area where results are based on a multitude of hard to understand numbers and in long term investments.
I have created many assets like Manny that got canceled because the dealer didn't like the way they "looked" (like a $50 microsite) when their purpose wasn't to "look" but to produce (links, content, etc). So I'm skeptical too to show my work for those reasons:
People see it and copy what they see thinking it works the same, and people that don't like what they see cancel because they don't understand how it works.
Content and SEO like Manny does it is almost like a coaches game plays, people can see the plays as they develop in a game but you don't want to show the book ahead to everyone.
I think...
