I know its not what you asked for, but...have you considered just going the consulting route and leveraging your skillsets across multiple dealers? Like Ryan said, the SEO folks are likely the first to go during a down-turn when everyone is hunkering down for the storm, but having a larger number of customers gives you some flexibility.


When I was running AutoRevo, I hired this guy to do some graphics & marketing work, but he eventually wanted to do our SEO, then we had him working on SEO for our dealer customers. He did a fantastic job at it...but he eventually decided to go out on his own and build his own brand around his own name. That guy's name was Greg Gifford, and I think most people are familiar with how his SEO career worked out. :)
