NADA 20 Groups have been tracking the "ROE" metric for as long as I can remember. The composite did not break this number on a per department basis (directly), but did cover it. If I remember correctly, they labeled it "Gross Profit Per Employee".It is a strong measure for sure. Where it really showed it's teeth was in small dealerships that were heavy in support staff. From there, the calculations had to manually be done to expose the departments that were suspect.Great post!
