I know we have plenty of people that use Craigslist and plenty more that would consider themselves 'gurus' so I am looking to you guys for a few words of advice and to see if anyone else has experienced what I am...

The last 3 weeks or so have been well below par in terms of response to our ads.. Basically zero emails. We post our ads and use the craigslist anonamyized email address (like: [email protected]) as one of the methods customers can contact us, besides a site link and telephone number. Now keep in mind, we get tons of emails usually from CL so this is a severe issue.

Anyway, today I have been doing some testing by sending test emails as if I were a "customer" to the anonymized CL email and I've only received 2 out of 8 test emails. Our CL accout uses free emails (yahoo/gmail). I personally sent these emails by multiple different methods (from my personal gmail, hotmail accounts, my phone, etc).

Is it possible (has anyone experienced this) my emails are being 'lost' on purpose thanks to CL filters or CL just not delivering the emails?? The ads are live and not ghosted... Nothing has changed in the email settings or any of that...

Thanks for the help guys/gals.

✨ AI Highlights

A dealer reports a significant drop in email inquiries through Craigslist's anonymized email forwarding system over a three-week period, with only 2 out of 8 test emails successfully delivered. A respondent suggests using contact forms instead of Craigslist's email system, noting that forms allow dealers to use their own email addresses and citing reliability issues with Craigslist's standard email link. The key insight is that Craigslist's anonymized email forwarding appears to be unreliable for receiving customer inquiries, making direct contact forms on dealers' own websites a preferable alternative.
