I'm sure most of you have read this post already, somewhere.

My questions is, how exactly do you think this interview will go down?

Will Jared be the nice guy he is or will he step up and really give Scott some shit???

What do you think?

Jared Hamilton Interviews TrueCar CEO Onstage at #DSES

The DrivingSales Executive Summit isn’t just a place to come and hear world-renowned speakers or thought-provoking breakout sessions. It doesn’t only provide an intimate networking setting with the most progressive dealers in the country. DSES is the place to come to hear about the cutting-edge strategies and the most volatile topics that directly impact your bottom line, as well as happenings that influence the industry at large, and how that affects you, the dealer.

When things are moving and shaking in our industry, you bet you’ll hear about it at DSES. We focus in on the topics that have a bearing on the dealer atmosphere and dealer success. That’s why DrivingSales Founder and CEO, Jared Hamilton, will be sitting down for a face-to-face exclusive interview with the Chairman and CEO of TrueCar, Scott Painter, onstage at the 4th annual DrivingSales Executive Summit.

Throughout all of Painter’s businesses in the automotive industry, he’s always not only pushed the boundaries of the industry, but also tested out new and sometimes unpopular ideas of how the industry should work. His current operations with TrueCar have caused quite a ruckus in the last 12 months. Jared will ask Scott the hard questions, many of which dealers will have the opportunity to submit ahead of time, to examine what our industry has been through and discuss what the future holds.

See Jared interview Scott exclusively on stage at #DSES. You won’t want to miss this showstopper, so reserve your seats today!

Topics and sponsors at DSES are requested by the dealer community. The topic of TrueCar and their business model was also requested. And no, this isn't a "gotcha" session to corner him; he's willing to accept questions from the community and address them in a professional setting. And yes, they're a sponsor. No, not a "major" sponsor - a mid-level sponsor at best. One's sponsorship level doesn't create any special treatment with regards to speaking and stage presence. However, the level of demand from the dealer board does.

So, if anyone has a question, man up and ask the big questions at DSES!

Jeff, isn't Jerry Thibeau going to be there? I know that Jerry has some strong feelings for TrueCar and Scott Painter. Why not make it a tag team event?

YES - both Jerry and "Da Man" were leading the march against TrueCar. We shed light on the subject of TrueCars aggregating dealers transactional data by access (one could argue, unknowingly) to the dealers DMS waayyy back in June 2011 with "Dealers, wake up! Edmunds TMV and TrueCar Has Your Transactional Data" .

Her's a link to a thread that we had started during all the drama. It hasn't been updated in some time but has several links to different posts/articles around the subject. I believe Jerry defensive position is included :) - http://forum.dealerrefresh.com/f46/...te-truecar-thread-post-your-updates-2369.html
