LinkedIn prospecting for Car Dealers

I use linked in ads to promote both my corporate internet and dealer businesses. Whereas on Google Adwords we run out of money each day, with LinkedIn ads we can't even spend $5.00 a day because no one clicks. So I can't tell you about prospecting organically, but on the pay per click side the stats are abysmal on LinkedIn. You would imagine that with all the information they have about the user (whereas google ppc demographic settings are so limited and doesn't require sign in) that it would be a great tool. If LinkedIn got a better display presentation on the ads so someone would actually click them and then provided the advertiser with the LinkedIn user, they would have a slam dunk over Google because you would know who actually visited to followup. Not sure if you were looking for info on their paid ads or not, but that's been my experience thus far. We leave it running only because it never costs us anything anyway.

Ive bought some ad placement on Linked for my Mercedes dealers. You can really drill down to who you want to serve your ads to. Like "income" and "position".

I had a nice offer, designated landing page with tracking. The results were minimal.

From the prospecting side...that's a different story. If I were a salesmen, I'd be working Linkedin on a daily basis. I have no doubt you could gain some some great opportunities. Joe - I have a recoding on MP3 on how to leverage Linkedin for leads and sales. Let me know if you're interested. I'll send it your way. It's maybe 2 years old though..

✨ AI Highlights

The thread discusses LinkedIn's effectiveness as a prospecting tool for car dealers, with mixed results reported across different use cases. While LinkedIn ads and paid placements performed poorly with minimal clicks and conversions, several respondents emphasized that organic prospecting and direct salespeople outreach on the platform could generate legitimate leads if executed consistently. The consensus suggests LinkedIn is better suited for recruitment and personal brand-building than paid advertising, but potentially valuable for individual salespeople engaging in direct relationship-building.
