Are Dealers Measuring These 8 Facebook & Instagram KPIs?

They do it weakly. It's difficult for dealers to set this up on their own (relying on the power of 3rd party API integration or even worse manually). Yes, the problem is having to upload the data. It's something I am very familiar with having done it within GA and web traffic attribution and then watching the implementation (pre-dates FB's attempts at it BTW) of sales attribution.

I'd be eager to know what you deem is a good benchmark or have you calculated it for dealers? I'll give Everson credit (where credit is due) and he does a lot of things right. However, I don't find those same cost / lead and cost / sales numbers as low across a large sample size. The bottom-line, there is so much fraud going on at FB, I'd be very, very skeptical if I were a dealer.

Regarding your first point about uploading data - it's true, there definitely is some manual work involved, unfortunately. Obviously, digital marketing providers can help dealers cut down on this manual work, but it does certainly exist.

About your second point ("good benchmark"), could you clarify what you mean by that? Are you asking what KPIs or outcomes I'd recommend dealers use to measure the success of their social ads?

A vendor post outlining eight Facebook and Instagram KPIs for car dealers sparked a debate between a skeptic claiming roughly half of social platform traffic is fraudulent bots and a dealer digital marketer who shared account data showing $2.84 cost-per-lead and $65 cost-per-sale on Facebook. The key tension centers on whether bot-driven traffic waste invalidates social ad ROI, with the practicing dealer arguing all ad channels carry waste and that measurable sales results justify the spend regardless.
