I’ve been in the auto industry for a while now, and I’ve worked with dealerships both big and small. One thing that has always stood out to me is how often the smaller independent dealers get the short end of the stick when it comes to payment processing.


Large franchise groups usually have leverage. They negotiate with processors, they have teams watching every expense, and they make sure their rates are sharp. But the small to mid-sized dealer? More often than not, they’re paying inflated fees, getting locked into tiered pricing structures, or quietly having their rates bumped up over time.

  • Statements are made confusing on purpose so most dealers can’t tell what they’re actually paying.
  • Unless you challenge your provider, they’ll keep padding margins at your expense.
