Hi everyone,

I’m exploring ways to expand my website’s reach and came across the concept of guest blogging. I understand the basics, but I’m curious about the best practices for finding quality opportunities.

Specifically, how do you evaluate which sites are worth contributing to? I’ve also heard about a guest posts marketplace where you can buy or exchange posts. Has anyone used these platforms, and are they worth it in terms of SEO and traffic?

I’d love to hear your experiences, tips, and any cautionary advice before diving into guest posting.

You're playing the long-tail SEO game here, so results will be slow and possibly steady if you continue to contribute and build backlinks to your site.

I've seen some of those marketplaces but can't attest to their value.

At this stage you should just research and find some sites you'd like to write for and reach to them directly.

Be transparent what you're after and once you start to get some traction, you can stack those wins into your outreach to make new offers easier to close.

For me, the key is checking domain relevance over metrics. A DA 60 finance site won't help if you're writing about fitness. I also run each potential site through Ahrefs to check if it actually ranks for anything organic. If traffic is under 1k a month, I usually skip it.
