Did your original yahoo reviews disappear and got replaced with Yelp reviews?

Hello,

The strangest thing happened a few days ago.

We had about 100+ Yahoo reviews that we painstakingly collected from our customers. 5 days ago I get an email from a Yelp rep with the following: "Are you interested in a 15 minute call to see if advertising on Yelp make sense? Let me know." Naturally, I trash it, but then I read a press release announcing a partnership between Yahoo and Yelp. I go to our Yahoo page: http://local.yahoo.com/info-73359802-motors-on-wheels-houston and lo and behold, all our reviews have been deleted and replaced with our Yelp reviews ( we went from 109 to 5).

I started looking at other dealerships on Yahoo Local and noticed that every dealer that had more than 100 reviews (I was tracking a few) was affected the same way. Their original yahoo reviews were deleted and replace with Yelp reviews. The funny thing is dealers with a few reviews are still powered by Yahoo.

✨ AI Highlights

A dealer reports that Yahoo Local deleted their 109+ reviews and replaced them with only 5 Yelp reviews following Yahoo's partnership announcement with Yelp, and they discovered other dealerships with 100+ reviews experienced the same issue. The post suggests a systematic migration or consolidation of review data from Yahoo Local to Yelp, resulting in significant review loss for affected dealers. The key insight is that dealers who built substantial review portfolios on Yahoo Local may have lost that equity without warning due to the backend platform migration.
