Are you willing to give figures on a trade-in to an online shopper?

I am shopping right now and submitted my car info to a dealer and the guy refused to give me any figures over the phone but encouraged me to go shop around and bring him my best numbers and he would beat them.

I felt like I was on the other end of the phone in Joe Webb's "Just get em in" video.

Jeff Kershner shares a frustrating firsthand experience as a car shopper where a dealer refused to provide trade-in figures over the phone, instead pushing him to come in — a classic 'just get em in' tactic. The thread opens a debate among dealer professionals about whether giving trade-in values online is a viable and customer-friendly practice. The core tension is between transparency that builds trust with digital shoppers and the traditional reluctance to commit to numbers without seeing the vehicle.
