eCarlist Evaluation

so I'm sorry if you misunderstood the basis of the analytics data. We have also very recently added considerably to our Account Management, Project Management, Programming and Development departments so the problems you had with turn-around have been addressed. 2009 was a tremendous growth year for us, and our goal was scalability - which we have acheived for 2010.

I just got confused on the market pricing standpoint, sorry ;) As for personnel additions I'm so glad! That was pretty much my only hangup over the past year.

Thx for chiming in

Although I realize you are not a "full" CRM, your Inventory Management does in-compass lead management which = leads which = Customer which leads and customers = Customer relationship Manager.r The ability to manage those leads LACKS. It is def and aspect of using ecarlist, that keeps my eyes open to other products that might truly encompass the puzzle being complete. As we are all looking to streamline our process.

Here is what I would like to see.
a.) Follow up system. be able to schedule a task, call, appt etc.
b.) be able to tag customer as hot, cold, dead, etc..
c.) Be able to mass email and segregate accordingly.

Is it in the future???
from one of the biggest ecarlist, Len C, ecarlink fan out there

Park Place Dealerships www.parkplacetexas.com moved to eCarList in April of 2009 - and we have been extremely pleased with the functionality of the software, the support teams and the forward thinking of its management team.

There are a variety of services that eCarList offers that we utilize to gain a competitive standpoint in the marketplace.

The initial reason we moved to eCarList was for its inventory management system, which is powerful, flexible and customizable. The initial integration went smoothly and our sales teams quickly learned how to work in the back-end of the system.

There were also a number of items that the eCarList inventory management system offered that we could not find elsewhere. The system shows similar vehicles on an inventory search and offers a "vehicle finder" that alerts prospect if a vehicle that matches their interest comes into inventory. This helps ensure that prospects find the vehicle they want. Also, a recently added feature, the health indicator helps the management team here stay on-top of the business to ensure vehicles are properly merchandised. In addition, the pricing tool is utilized by sales management to get current market pricing of competitive vehicles to assist in determining optimal market price and to manage inventory as it ages.

We also use eCarList for web design and hosting. The design team is top notch and our turn-around times have been good. They have designed our new home page as well as the landing pages of our multiple dealerships.

Recently we have reached out to eCarList to help our dealership in the areas of video, chat and in creating a mobile website. They also offer SEO and SEM services that are unparalleled. The combination of working with a team that has strong technical capabilities and a background in the automotive industry has helped deliver products that work and that get results.

What's more, the eCarList support team has been responsive and knowledgeable. If we need something customized, changed, or if there is an issue, it is addressed quickly and in a professional manner.

In conclusion, eCarList has cutting edge talent and start-of-the-art online solutions. Management comes from the automotive industry so they are in tune with the market. And, having one source for multiple services reduces the burden of managing multiple vendors. We have been pleased with the relationship and the results, Our traffic and sales are up substantially, even in this recent down market, and we certainly need to attribute a good portion of this to the help of the eCarList team and the products and services they provide.

eCarList comes highly recommended.

The only good thing about this product is it feeds inventory out rapidly to other vendor (cars.com, autotader.com, etc) that being said, the rest of this is truly a nightmare! I have been a consultant for 17 years automotive and have had my fair share of inept companies to deal with, however, this one takes the cake. First problem, vin decoder. This vin decoder makes the end user play guessing games as to multiple vehicle items (color, interior, additional items, engine, sedan or suv, transmission) these are very important while feeding out to other vendors as it helps customers find vehicles they are looking for. The photo upload is horrible. The servers must not be up to date as it is very slow uploading (even small files) and the technology is slow when rearranging photos (need to get it right the first time or you will be waiting) Stickers.....if you need warranty stickers.....prepare to hand write them for more than 3 weeks. I use national standard pre-printed warranty stickers (ecarlist does not have the template) so I spent more than 3 weeks attempting to get the stickers right (at least 20 emails, 3 e tickets, 25-30 phone calls) the sticker is as good as it is going to get, a little off, but, I can no longer deal with it.I am 2 months into trying to get window stickers completed (the banner is way over sized) i use standard blank window stickers, used nation wide, nothing custom or special. Ecarlist wants to charge me $150.00-$225.00 for "a custom sticker creation" when in fact their software is not sending it correctly to to window sticker applicaation. REALLY... keep in mind i have spoken to 4 different customer service people, multiple etickets, at least 7 emails....I have resolved myself to creating custom stickers, preprinted (1000% better quality) for half the price to work around their broken software. I work with MANY providers of these type of products and I must say this one is just not one I would chose due to its inefficiency...i have spent double the time OR MORE to get the same results as other vendors. Ecarlist lost templates that were correct, put them in the wrong locations, deleted them, I cannot even wrap my head around this nightmare. On a scale of 1-10 (and I use a lot of similar products) I will give them a 2....not a 1...because they update their feed pretty fast. Other than that....the feed will probably be wrong so your sales will be cut in half. I find once I fix the feed, it will revert back sometimes...not always. The artwork is grainy, not crystal clear like is needed for internet (maybe old software) This product is not user friendly AT ALL. NOT AT ALL!!! So if you have decided to use this for your dealership, plan on the person using it to spend DOUBLE the TIME.....and lots of reasons why things cant get done....and believe them!!!! I work with providers for marketing, (photos comments SEO feed) and have worked soley with these type products for more than 5 years, so I know what I am talking about.

I've been following all these threads for quite some time but I've never posted anything until now. I recently signed up with eCarlist for their dealer website. My experience with them was terrible at the beginning stages of the design process. They told me I could choose a template for free or create a custom website for an extra $200 a month. I decided to go custom so I wouldn't have to have a website like anyone else. I had seen other custom websites they've created and the graphics looked really good. Well that wasn't the case with mine... The first mock up they sent me was a joke! The graphics were terrible and I got the feeling that they were trying to hurry up and rush the process so the website can go live and they can start billing me. I instantly lost trust and confidence. I called them and let them know the graphics were terrible and I know longer wanted to move forward with the custom design so I ended up with one of their templates. Their templates are not that bad and I think my website looks good however, I felt let down because I signed up for a custom design and ended with a template due to their poor custom graphics. Also, it took 5 months from the date I signed up (May 23rd) to the date the website went live (Oct 21)! That's a long time compared to my previous website hosting company that only took a couple of weeks! Oh and you can't get a website without signing up for their inventory management tool. So that's an extra $500 a month being wasted because I'm only using their eBay feed (which is really good). Other than that, all my feeds are setup through my DMS and I use vAuto for my market analysis. Which by the way, eCarlist's market analysis tool is no where near as good as vAuto. I was hoping eCarlist's market analysis tool would be better than vAuto so I can cancel with vAuto but that is not the case. If you can't decide which market analysis tool you want to use, definitely sign up with vAuto! As far as support goes, I think they're really good. They respond quickly to my tickets and have been very helpful. My current ticket that I have open with them is because my photo overlay is not being applied to all my vehicles. This is the only ticket that has been open for 3-4 weeks because they can't figure out why the photo overlay is not being applied.

At the end of the day I will say this; I'm currently happy with my website with eCarlist although my experiences with them were not so great at the beginning (except for Blaine.. He's been awesome from beginning to end). I do like the functionality and features of their websites that I believe no other website hosting company can offer. I was only upset with their poor graphic designs. However, I do feel I am paying way too much since I'm not using all of their inventory management tools and will consider switching when my contract is up (possibly AutoRevo). Feel free to check it out at King of Cars | Used Cars Dealer | Pasadena, Texas
