Evergreen content on your site

Intent... Another good one.

Why Content Marketing Works for Me and Not You
https://neilpatel.com/blog/content-marketing-works

Why doesn’t content marketing work for most businesses?
What most people don’t realize is that all visitors are not the same. And I’m not talking about demographics and income, I’m talking about intent.

When you land on a web page that ranks on Google because of content marketing, your actions are going to be different than if you clicked on a paid listing.

And it’s not because one is paid and one is organic…

How Fleeting Content Is Changing Content Marketing

As a business owner, you’ve probably heard the term “evergreen content” thrown around at least a few times. The idea here is that you can create high-quality content that never goes out of style. But the idea behind evergreen content was created long ago, way before content became what it is today. Now, content is all about staying new and fresh.

Today's content doesn't stick around for long. Between social media posts that disappear into a timeline after only a few minutes and Snapchat or Instagram Stories that have 24-hour expiration dates, your content needs to make an impact and it needs to do it quickly. You can no longer put all your focus into creating something you hope will gain attention for months and months. Instead, you have only a few seconds to get viewers hooked.

How many dealers and their agencies are doing this correctly?

I think it all depends on what you are using content for. Another term is "cornerstone content", which are main articles that rank high in SEO. These articles are more for SEO purposes rather than to fill newsfeeds. Both strategies can be useful.
