Serious question, because I think a lot of stores would be surprised by the answer.

Pull your ten oldest used units. Search Marketplace for each one the way a shopper near you would, year, make and model, and count how many of yours come up. Then count how many of those still show today's price.

Post your number out of ten. I'll tally whatever comes in.

Why I'm asking: across the 196 stores in our data, the five units dealers list most on Marketplace are all pickups and 4x4s, F-150 first. Last week Cox said big pickups and SUVs took more of the fall hit at auction. So the units most stores lean on for Marketplace leads are the same ones losing value every week they sit where nobody can see them.

And 22.6% of the listings we tracked changed price after they went live. Every one of those is a post somebody has to go fix by hand.

Full disclosure, I build software that posts dealer inventory to Marketplace, so weigh accordingly. The model counts are here: Facebook Marketplace Used-Car Report 2026 | AutoLander

A data-driven poster challenges dealers to audit how many of their oldest used units actually appear on Facebook Marketplace with current pricing, revealing that 22.6% of tracked listings had stale prices after going live. The core concern is that the inventory dealers rely on most for Marketplace leads — pickups and 4x4s, especially F-150s — are also the units depreciating fastest at auction, making price accuracy on those listings especially critical. The thread invites dealers to run their own ten-unit spot check and share results.
