A few months back our dealer group decided to get rid of our 3rd party website (VinSolutions) and decided to attempt to just upgrade and optimize our OEM website (Dealer.com thru Ford Direct). While I like the idea of not having 2 different websites competing with each other for search rankings, confusing customers, and of course unnecessary spend on a second website... Ford direct limits what type of customization you can do to your dealer.com website to set it apart from all the other dealer websites looking exactly the same.

That being said, what are some of the best optimizations we can do to make this website the best it can be? (Different plug ins, widgets, better items to convert better, ect)

A dealer group eliminated their third-party website to consolidate on their Ford OEM website (Dealer.com), aiming to reduce SEO competition and costs, but encountered limitations in customization options. The original poster seeks advice on optimization strategies—such as plugins, widgets, and conversion improvements—to differentiate their OEM site despite the platform's constraints. A responder points to an existing thread comparing OEM sites versus custom dealer sites as a potential resource.
