I saw Brian Pasch's article regarding Dealership Listings Ads - what do you guys know or think about it?

"Google recently shared with their advertising partners a new advertising unit for auto dealers. The ad unit will only be available in the United States and for mobile devices. The ad unit is targeted for the Google search network only."

Also, saw this article by Mike Blumethal who wasn't quite sold yet.

"Brian is positioning that ad as a replacement for the 7-Pack. And that very well could be true, or not. It could just be a replacement for local ads that are currently showing. And the pack may continue to show below the ads. I don’t really know."

What do you think?

Dealers discuss Google's new mobile-only advertising unit designed specifically for auto dealers on the search network, with debate over whether it represents a genuinely innovative product or simply a repackaging of existing ad formats like the 7-Pack. Consensus suggests Google is optimizing mobile search results display space to balance ads with other content, though skepticism remains about whether this constitutes a meaningful improvement over current advertising options available to dealers.
