We're in full blown back to school advertising hell. Have you heard the commercial with the little girl who says, "hashtag first day look"?

What about the new Honda Twitter-focused commercials?

I have a few questions:

What do you think about these new commercials?
Do you integrate these efforts into your marketing?
Is the age group they're trying to reach actually watching these commericals?

I'm no SM NinjaGuruSwamiRockstar, but I think Twitter certainly can be a viable connection method with consumers if a strategy is executed well. According to one source there are over 550 million people trying to figure out how to use the "Tic Tac Toe board thingy" appropriately. That could mean a lot of opportunity to connect in an open forum.

Thought I'd share this particularly humorous exchange between a dealer that does a great job of monitoring the streams for opportunity and a potential customer. I think the dealer did well to engage, be real, laugh and relate. What do you think?

JessicaRuth questions whether major brands' back-to-school and Twitter-focused commercials effectively reach their target demographics, while ryan.leslie argues that Twitter represents a viable marketing channel if executed strategically, citing high user numbers and sharing an example of a dealer successfully engaging a potential customer through social media monitoring. The thread suggests that social media integration into dealership marketing can be effective when approached authentically and with genuine customer engagement rather than forced promotional tactics.
