Hi all — long-time lurker, first post in the merchandising section.

We've been building VinAssessment, a market-intelligence and pricing tool for dealers, and I wanted to share what it does in case it's useful to anyone here wrestling with the same inventory headaches we kept hearing about.

The core idea is simple: for every vehicle on your lot — new or used — you should be able to see exactly where you sit in your local market, in real time, without pulling reports by hand.

What's behind it — the data:

- 2+ billion vehicle images
- 50+ million auction records, with photos and full title history
- 200+ million vehicle listings

That depth is what lets us show current, accurate comps instead of a stale weekly snapshot.

What it does with that data:

- Live competitive set per VIN. For each car we pull the actual comparable listings within a radius you control (default 50 miles), with match levels from exact-trim down to model-level. You see who you're competing with, their prices, days on market, and where your price ranks.
- Price rank & positioning. Instant "you're #3 of 11 within 50 miles" style ranking, plus price trends over time so you can spot when the market is moving against you.
- Auction & title history. Pull a vehicle's auction record, prior photos, and title history to back up your pricing and appraisal decisions.
- Platform & listing-source visibility. Where competitors are listed, with links back to the original source listings.
- Filters that actually stay consistent. Radius, match level, same-year, condition-match — set them once and every number on the page respects them.

We're a small team and still actively shaping the roadmap, so I'd genuinely value feedback from this crowd — what would make a pricing/market tool actually earn a spot in your daily workflow? What do the existing tools get wrong for you?

Happy to answer any questions here.

✨ AI Highlights

VinAssessment introduces itself to the DealerRefresh community as a market intelligence and pricing tool for new and used inventory, claiming to draw on over 200 million vehicle listings, 50 million auction records, and 2 billion vehicle images to provide real-time competitive positioning without manual reporting. The post is an introductory pitch from a first-time poster who is a vendor, sharing the tool's data depth as its core differentiator. The thread appears to be an early-stage vendor introduction with limited community response captured in the excerpt.
