Savvy Dealer vs Dealer On

I'm a non-website-related vendor, so take this with a bit of a grain of salt, but I've seen thousands and thousands of websites in my work and Savvy Dealer does seem to be one of the cleaner ones, though if it's the same price as DealerOn I suspect it's quite a bit more than you'd need for a small indie lot where most of your competition uses Dealercenter or CarsForSale or DealerCarSearch (all of which are somewhat less elegant). I'd also recommend checking out DealerProEdge - smaller but great on SEO.

Website vendor here. For a small independent lot, I'd prioritize a few things:
  • Easy inventory updates, especially from a phone.
  • A clean website that displays vehicles properly on mobile.
  • Simple lead handling.
  • Control over your domain and inventory data.
  • Responsive support when something goes wrong.
Some website providers make it difficult to compare pricing and features without requesting a quote, so it really comes down to what each company is offering and what your dealership actually needs. I'd recommend asking both vendors specifically about the points above.

One other thing that might help with the decision: would you be willing to share why you're looking for a new website provider? Is there something missing or frustrating about your current setup?

I'm looking for a new provider because we've lost alot of our ranking. The VDPs can't be searched by google, and alot of the information on pages can't be seen either. We're in a small town as I said. we used to have the top 2 organic search for auto repair and we're number 6 now. I can't get a access to the back end to make any changes. The customers are having issues not being able to find what their looking at and calls to action.
I like Savvy Dealer but I can't find any information on them.

Given how important search rankings are to your decision, I'd pay close attention to the SEO migration itself. Switching website providers doesn't necessarily mean starting from zero, but a poorly handled migration can cost you rankings you've already built.

I don't know much about the specific providers you're considering, but I'd make sure whichever provider you choose has a clear migration plan for preserving your existing URLs, redirecting old pages where necessary, and maintaining your existing SEO content and metadata.

When you say you've lost rankings, are you referring to specific search terms, individual vehicle listings, or a general decline in organic traffic? Did this happen gradually with your current provider, or did it start after a website redesign or migration?

✨ AI Highlights

A small independent dealer is evaluating two similarly priced website providers, Savvy Dealer and Dealer On, and is seeking community input to make an informed decision. The thread is sparse on responses, offering little concrete comparative insight from other dealers or vendor partners. Anyone hoping for detailed side-by-side analysis or firsthand experience with either platform will likely find the thread too thin to be useful.
